The next morning, Luo Feng left the inn after breakfast and headed to the Adventurers Guild as usual.
The moment he stepped inside, the Guild Master and several senior adventurers immediately called him aside into a private meeting room. Their faces were serious.
"Feng, sit down," the Guild Master said gravely. "We need to warn you about something that happened yesterday."
They told him everything in detail:
Yesterday, four travelers had come to register. When they tested their ranks, the results were shocking — three SS-rank and one SSS-rank. But the most alarming part was the title that appeared for the leader: Hero.
The four of them had spent hours explaining themselves, claiming they came from the distant Kingdom of Water. The Guild Master and others had questioned them extensively, but something felt off. Their story didn't quite add up, and their behavior was too polished, too careful.
The Guild Master looked Feng straight in the eyes.
"Four heroes suddenly appear right after you told us that four heroes survived your fight in the Dragon Kingdom. It matches too perfectly. They don't look or act like people from the Water Kingdom. We believe they are here for revenge. They are looking for you… and likely for your family as well."
Feng listened in silence, his expression calm, but his eyes grew cold and sharp.
After the meeting, he thanked the Guild Master and the others for the warning, then returned straight to the inn.
Lina was resting on the bed with their newborn son in her arms, while Suki was helping the twins clean the dining area. When Feng entered the room, Lina immediately noticed the change in his mood.
He sat down beside her and spoke quietly but firmly.
"Lina… Suki… listen carefully. The four remaining heroes from the Dragon Kingdom have arrived in this city. They are looking for us. For your safety, the three of you are not allowed to leave the inn from now on. Stay inside at all times. I will handle everything outside."
Lina's face paled, but she nodded without argument, gently holding their baby closer.
Suki looked scared for a moment, then nodded too. "Okay, Dad… I'll stay with Mom and the baby."
Feng placed a hand on Lina's shoulder and another on Suki's head, his voice soft but resolute.
"I promise I will protect all of you. We've come this far. We will get through this too."
That night, after dinner, they went to sleep early. Suki curled up in her small bed. Lina lay beside Feng with their son nestled safely between them. Feng stayed awake longer than usual, staring at the ceiling, his hand resting protectively on Lina's waist.
The peaceful days in the Holy Kingdom had suddenly become much more dangerous.
