The once vibrant Greenfield had now been swallowed by eerie purple crystals. The heartbreaking sight left everyone devastated.
Meanwhile, back in Pallet Town, Ash's mother, Delia Ketchum, watched the news report on television with deep concern.
She opened a treasured photo album and gently brushed her fingers across an old, yellowed photograph.
Besides herself, Ash, and Professor Oak, the picture also showed a smiling father and daughter: the famous Pokémon researcher Professor Spencer Hale and his daughter Molly.
The background was none other than the mansion that was now covered in crystals.
"Professor Oak, did you see the news?" Delia immediately called him.
Professor Oak's heavy voice came from the other end of the line.
"Yes. I'm preparing to head there now. Spencer had recently been researching the Unown and even sent me a paper on the subject, but after that, all contact was lost."
"Please let me come with you," Delia said firmly. "Molly is still so young. I just can't stop worrying about her."
When they finally arrived in Greenfield by car, they happened to run into Ash and his group, who had just come out of the Pokémon Center.
"Mom? What are you doing here?" Ash quickly stepped forward.
Although he had been in this world for quite some time since transmigrating, every time he saw Delia, he could still feel the warmth of their deep mother and son bond.
Pikachu happily leaped into Delia's arms and affectionately rubbed against her cheek.
Delia carefully looked over her son, her eyes filled with relief.
"Ash, you've grown up. You've become much more dependable."
The touching reunion was completely captured by the reporters at the scene.
At the same time, inside a room at the top of the crystal tower, a little girl was silently watching everything through a television screen.
Sitting beside her was a Legendary Pokémon.
It possessed the appearance of a majestic lion. Its powerful legs were adorned with metallic bands, and behind it flowed a mane resembling white clouds of smoke. Beneath the cloud-like mane was sharp reddish-brown fur resembling blades, while a golden three-leaf crest decorated its forehead, giving it an imposing and regal appearance.
It was Entei, one of the Legendary Beasts.
Summoned from the little girl's dreams by the Unown, this Legendary Pokémon was regarded by the girl as her "father."
Watching the interaction between Ash and Delia, Molly felt increasingly lonely.
Beside the computer sat another photograph showing both families together: Ash and his mother, and herself with her father.
"Papa..." Molly softly called out, gazing longingly at Delia on the screen. "I want..."
Entei slowly rose to its feet.
This Legendary Pokémon, created by the Unown based on the little girl's dreams, replied in a deep voice,
"Anything Molly desires, I will make it come true."
Meanwhile, Delia was explaining to everyone how she had come to know Spencer Hale and his family.
Ash tried hard to recall the details of the movie from his previous life. Though his memories had become somewhat blurry, he still vaguely remembered the little girl who had always followed behind him, sweetly calling him "Big Brother Ash."
"Before he disappeared, Professor Hale only sent me a paper regarding the Unown," Professor Oak recalled. "After that, I completely lost contact with him."
Ash fell into thought.
"It seems Professor Hale's disappearance really is related to the Unown. As far as I know, these Pokémon possess mysterious powers capable of distorting reality..."
Before he could finish speaking, Ash's expression suddenly changed.
He sensed three incredibly powerful energies rapidly approaching.
"Misty, Brock, protect my mother!"
He immediately stood up and secretly exchanged points in the system shop for a Keystone and its corresponding Mega Bracelet.
Facing the approaching Entei, he had to be fully prepared.
When Entei finally appeared, stepping across the crystallized ground, everything in its path was tainted with an eerie purple hue.
Ignoring everyone else, it walked directly toward Delia. Its deep voice echoed through the air, carrying a suffocating pressure that caused everyone's chests to ache.
"Leave now, before I lose my temper," Ash warned coldly while enduring the discomfort.
Pikachu also raised its ears, crackling electricity bursting from its cheeks.
Yet Entei stubbornly repeated,
"You are Mother."
As it spoke, it attempted to take Delia away.
"Alakazam, I choose you! Use Psychic!"
Alakazam appeared just in time. Brilliant blue light burst from its eyes as it barely forced back Entei's advance, though it suffered considerable damage in return.
"Do not interfere."
Entei glared at Ash.
"That's not for you to decide."
Ash revealed the Keystone on his wrist and exchanged a determined look with Alakazam.
"That thing..." Professor Oak naturally noticed it. It looked strangely familiar, but he couldn't remember exactly what it was.
Through telepathy, Ash said to Alakazam,
"Although we haven't completely mastered this power yet, we have to try."
Alakazam solemnly nodded.
"I'll say this one last time. Stand aside."
Entei issued its final warning.
Ash placed his hand on the Keystone.
"Respond to my heart, Alakazam! Mega Evolve!"
Brilliant white light enveloped Alakazam, and its body began undergoing astonishing changes.
Its once grounded body rose into the air. The spoons in its hands increased to five, slowly orbiting around it, while a majestic white beard grew beneath its chin.
"T-This is..." Professor Oak's voice trembled with excitement. "There's no mistake... This is the legendary Mega Evolution said to exist in the Kalos region!"
The newly evolved Mega Alakazam resembled a wise grand mage, calmly gazing at the Legendary Pokémon before it.
Standing side by side with his partner, Ash prepared himself for the inevitable battle ahead.
