A surging stream of yellow electricity flashed through the air, blasting Team Rocket's trio into the sky once again.
"We finally got some screen time!"
"And this is how it ends!"
"What a terrible feeling!"
This was how it happened.
On their way to Ecruteak City, Ash and his friends had rescued a Pidgey. The Pidgey belonged to a messenger service, and its owner was a young man named Malachi. Through him, they learned that the local Pidgey were responsible for delivering messages.
Not long ago, a report had come in that three Pidgey had failed to arrive at their destinations on time.
So Ash and the others joined Malachi in investigating the matter. With the help of Ralts' sensing abilities, Ash discovered that Team Rocket's trio had been causing trouble behind the scenes.
And thus, the scene at the beginning unfolded.
After helping Malachi resolve the issue, Ash and his companions resumed their journey toward Ecruteak City.
"Bayleef, let's try again. See if you can gather the Energy Ball this time."
Along the way, Ash continued Bayleef's training. This time, he was teaching her Energy Ball, a move with tremendous power.
In fact, Bayleef's progress had been remarkable. During their travels, she had already learned Leaf Storm and Safeguard, giving her both offensive and defensive capabilities.
These skills would greatly benefit her future evolution into Meganium. The more moves she mastered, the more tactical options she would have in battle.
As they rested in the forest, the long-awaited notification suddenly rang out in Ash's mind.

Ash used his Aura to scout the surroundings and pointed in a certain direction.

However, with thunder rumbling and lightning flashing across the sky, the building looked especially eerie.

Once they stepped inside, Ash realized he had been overthinking things.
Far from being some haunted house, the place looked more like a treatment center. Machoke was giving shoulder massages, Spinarak was using its silk to bandage wounds, and Mareep was providing electrotherapy.
The most eye-catching person there was the beautiful young lady in a white coat. One glance was enough to tell that she was a doctor, and a human doctor at that.
After noticing their arrival, the young woman turned around and said,
"If you're here for treatment, please line up. Kindly wait until you're called."
"You've misunderstood, actually we..."
"It's an honor to meet such a beautiful young lady. My name is Brock. Being summoned by someone as lovely as you is my greatest pleasure. Whether it's ten years, one hundred years, or even one thousand years, I am willing to wait..."
Needless to say, Brock had somehow instantly appeared in front of the beautiful doctor.
As for why he failed to finish his speech, it was naturally because Misty had grabbed his ear and dragged him away.
"Sorry about that. May I ask your name?"
"My name is Anna. I'm the doctor here."
After getting acquainted, they learned that Anna not only agreed to let them stay out of the rain, but also introduced the Pokémon that assisted with treatments and examinations.
It truly demonstrated the unique strengths of Pokémon.
Afterward, Brock decided to stay behind and help her.
Well, most of it was simply because he wanted to impress the pretty doctor.

That was also the main reason why Brock no longer continued traveling with Ash later on.

He had sensed a voice calling to him.
After explaining the situation, Ash set off with Pikachu by his side.
