JAY'S POV
I ran to the main building like the world was going to end. When I finally reached there, I was stunned by the view in front of me.
Aries. The Horoscope.
Students from Section A and Section D were ganging up on him, and the person leading them was Mykel. His own friend.
I was completely confused after seeing the scene in front of me.
Ella was crying continuously while Mica held her shoulders, trying to calm her down. Freya stood nearby, watching everything like it was some boring show.
Section D was holding Aries like a hostage while Section A watched him with amused smiles. I felt like punching every single bastard so hard that they would need plastic surgery to fix their faces.
I was about to step forward when David suddenly grabbed my hand.
"Don't, Jay. Don't move yet… they might hurt him even more."
He was right. I needed to be careful. Two whole sections were ganging up on him. One reckless move… and I didn't know what they would do.
They started punching him again, laughing like hyenas.
Then the other students started whispering.
"Poor Aries."
"Hey, the so-called king is helpless now."
"Poor guy."
Damn. My pulse was rising fast. I didn't know how long I could control myself. I couldn't watch him like this.
But those bastards still didn't stop.
Where the hell was the school management right now? Were they dead or something?
Then Aries suddenly dropped to his knees and coughed blood. My heart stopped. No. He had a lung problem. It might get worse.
I couldn't let this happen.
"ENOUGH!"
I shouted.
I freed myself from David's grip and stepped forward. I ran straight toward Aries and knelt beside him. He was slowly losing consciousness.
I tapped his face lightly.
"Aries! Hey, hey… listen to me. Hold on a second. I'm taking you out of here. Please don't close your eyes."
Aries looked at me weakly.
"Jay Jay… leave from here. It's dangerous."
I shook my head immediately.
"No. I won't. You're my brother. I can't just stand here and do nothing."
He coughed again.
"Then listen to your brother… go from here."
Before I could say anything, someone suddenly grabbed my hair tightly and forced me to stand.
Mykel.
He looked at me with a cold smile.
"Don't interfere in my matters. Otherwise you'll end up just like him."
I glared at him. He smirked again.
"Actually no… you'll end up worse. After all, he's your cousin."
That was it. I had tolerated enough. I twisted his arm and freed myself from his grip before kicking him straight in the stomach.
He fell to the ground.
Another guy from Section A rushed toward me to punch me, but I dodged it and kicked him straight in the face.
Section E was about to jump into the fight, but I raised my hand to stop them.
"No. Stay back. Don't interfere. This fight has nothing to do with you."
I continued fighting the boys from Section D, but suddenly three of them grabbed me tightly from behind.
Mykel stood up again and raised his fist to punch me. I closed my eyes.
THUD!
But the punch never landed on me. Instead, Mykel stumbled backward after someone punched him hard.
Percy.
My most handsome brother.
He stood there casually as if he had just arrived at a party.
"Need help, baby sistah?"
Felix shouted in shock from behind.
"Kuya?! What are you doing here?"
Percy grinned proudly.
"Food delivery."
I punched another guy and turned toward him.
"Since when did you become a delivery guy?"
He shrugged.
"Hey! I brought food for you. CCTV orders."
"Oh…"
Someone from Section E shouted in confusion.
"Wait… CCTV orders?"
Before I could explain anything, Mykel stood up again, furious.
"Stop your family drama. And who the hell are you?"
Percy placed a hand on his chest dramatically.
"Seriously? You don't recognize this handsome masterpiece?"
I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up, Percy! End this fight. We need to get out of here."
But Mykel had already surrounded Percy with his gang members. He was holding a baseball bat. He raised it to swing.
Suddenly Ci-N rushed forward and kicked him straight in the face. The brat was really something.
Ci-N looked excited.
"Yay! I wanted to do that for so long. Though… I'm dead when Kuya finds out."
I knew Mykel and Ci-N's older brother were best friends. Even knowing that, Ci-N still chose to fight.
Section E was about to step forward again, but Percy shouted loudly.
"Don't interfere here!"
I quickly turned toward Ella, who was still crying.
"Stop crying and help Aries! What are you waiting for?"
Ella wiped her tears and replied helplessly.
"Isn't it obvious? We're having a hard time supporting him."
I slapped my forehead. She was seriously testing my patience. I walked toward them and helped them lift Aries up.
"Let's take him to the clinic."
Ella shook her head immediately.
"They won't accept him there."
What the hell? I didn't have time to argue.
"Then we're taking him straight to the hospital. He's not in good shape."
Together we carried Aries to my car. Behind us, Percy and Ci-N followed in Percy's car. As soon as we reached the hospital, Aries was rushed into the emergency ward.
Only then did I finally take a deep breath.
I turned toward Mica and Ella.
"What the hell is going on? I thought they were friends. Why were they ganging up on him?"
They both hesitated. But Ella finally spoke with tearful eyes.
"They removed Aries from his throne."
I froze.
"They said since Angelo has fallen… Aries should fall too."
I stared at her in disbelief. Why were they dragging Aries into this? Just because Kuya Angelo's company was struggling?
Ella continued softly.
"They made him king because he was related to Angelo. Now that Angelo is suffering… they want Aries to suffer too."
I slowly sat down on the floor. Her words echoed in my mind. It was my fault. Clearly mine. I broke the engagement… and now they were suffering because of me.
This was the price of my selfishness.
I lifted my head and looked at them.
"Mica… Ella… you both can leave now. I'll take care of him and inform everyone at home."
Ella shook her head stubbornly.
"No, Jay. I'll stay here with you."
I sighed.
"Please, Ella… don't argue. I don't even have the energy right now. You still have school. According to his condition, he won't wake up anytime soon. Come back after school."
Mica gently pulled Ella's arm.
"She's right. Look at yourself first. Let's come back later."
They finally left. The moment they were gone, tears started filling my eyes. I started crying uncontrollably. Percy and Ci-N came closer, trying to comfort me.
"It's my fault, Percy. He's suffering again because of me."
Percy shook his head immediately.
"No. It's not your fault. It's that bastard's fault, not yours."
Ci-N nodded in agreement.
"Yes, Jay. This has nothing to do with you."
But no matter what they said, I still felt guilty. Finally I wiped my tears. Crying wouldn't solve anything.
"Percy… call Kuya Angelo. Tell him about Aries."
Percy looked confused.
"Why? Where are you going?"
I looked away.
"I don't want to face them. Please."
He sighed.
"Okay. You and Ci-N go back to school. I'll stay here."
Ci-N helped me stand up.
"Come on, Jay. Let me help you."
We went back to school. But before we could even enter the building—
I heard someone yelling loudly.
It was Calix.
I frowned.
What the hell happened now?
