Damn it... now she has them all completely fooled.
Even though Lu-el wanted to speak and interfere with the ongoing conversation he could see through the holographic screen flashing in the corner of his vision, saying something irrelevant out of nowhere would make him look crazy in front of Kaori.
Besides, unlike the Goddess who was completely prepared with her scheme to manipulate his viewers, Lu-el still hadn't given any thought to his backstory.
"Enough with your nonsense and tell me who you are, pervert."
It was a bit late for introductions considering everything they'd been through—or perhaps it was the most appropriate time now that they had the chance to take a break and relax.
"I'm Lu-el, just a wandering adventurer," Lu-el said, choosing the simplest yet safest introduction—only his name and a vague profession, without mentioning what might be considered his job classification or place of origin unless Kaori asked for it.
However, Kaori was concerned about something else.
"And why are you wandering in the forest completely naked?"
Of course, that would be the question, Lu-el thought. Even he would have the same concern if he met someone butt naked in a forest.
"Some bandits stole all my stuff while I was taking a bath in the river. So I've been tracking them—that's when I spotted your party."
"Tracking them to get back your belongings? For a guy who threw up on his probably first kill? That's hard to believe."
"It's true that I wasn't planning to fight or get into any real life-or-death battle before." Lu-el stepped closer to Kaori, prompting her to step back, feeling flustered.
He leaned forward, trapping Kaori between his arms, her back against the cave wall, with his erection almost touching her belly.
Looking Kaori in the eyes, Lu-el continued with another cool one-liner he thought would sway her.
"But I couldn't just leave and run away, knowing what might happen to you."
"That's enough... I get it already..." Kaori muttered, looking away, her face, ears, and neck flushed red.
Kaori's reaction made Lu-el want to push his attempt to seduce her further.
He leaned down, bringing their faces closer, their lips almost touching—only for Kaori to awkwardly avoid the kiss.
"Back off, or I'm going to make you throw up again," Kaori said, glaring daggers at Lu-el despite her blushing face.
I guess being a bit aggressive won't work on her, Lu-el thought as he distanced himself before apologizing.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Kaori, I didn't mean to force myself on you."
Lu-el proceeded to dry himself with the towel and used it as a replacement for the wet cape wrapped around his waist.
Reiji did the same, stripping his armor and wet clothes carefully so as not to expose himself.

The three of them sat down, leaning against the cave wall, far from each other.
"If you're going to glare at me like that, you should have stabbed me in the back earlier while I was confessing my feelings to Ms. Kaori," Lu-el said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Confessing? Do you think that's what you were doing? You were just sexually harassing her!" Reiji shot back, finally gaining the confidence to stand against Lu-el—even with Kaori glaring daggers at him.
Or rather, he had simply lost his composure due to exhaustion—not only physical but mental—as they waited for their uncertain fate.
"I'm the one who's known her longer! I'm the one who's supposed to be her lover!"
He continued blabbering, mistaking Lu-el's silence for cowardice, when in truth, Lu-el simply had no interest in arguing.
"You're just a bastard like Croc! In fact, we wouldn't even need your help to escape those bandits. If Ms. Kaori had enough Mana to use her magic, I'm sure she could defeat even a thousand bandits."
"Shut up already, would you," Kaori grumbled, reaching the limit of her patience—while also being alerted by something else.
Still, Reiji continued his mindless monologue, clinging to an idea he believed would save them.
"That's right! If you let me take your virginity right here, right now, I could just pour my seed into your womb and give you Mana—"
"I said shut up, you moron."
BAM!
Kaori swiftly stood and landed a punch straight to Reiji's face, knocking him to the floor before shoving a rag into his mouth to silence him.
Lu-el thought Kaori had simply had enough of Reiji's blabbering. But upon hearing voices outside, he realized their situation wasn't getting any better.
"Have you found any trace on the other side of the river?"
"Nothing at all."
"Maybe they swam downstream to hide their trail before getting out of the river."
"Then let's continue searching downstream."
Their pursuers had already caught up to them, and it probably wouldn't take long before they were found.
"Like I said, this place has a barrier. It won't be easy for any man to notice it unless there's a Witch or a Huntress with them," Kaori said, easing Lu-el's worries.
However, something else was on Lu-el's mind.
"Is it true that you can defeat those bandits if you have enough Mana, Ms. Kaori?" he asked, watching her tie Reiji's arms behind his back, then bind his feet while keeping the rag in his mouth.
Kaori glanced at Lu-el in silence for a moment before answering.
"Beating a thousand bandits would still be impossible for me, but I can definitely force our way out of the forest."
"Do it with me."
"Ehh?"
"Please make me your lover, Ms. Kaori."
