Chapter 83 - Chapter

Chen Wan noticed that the people below were still hesitating, so she immediately acted against Xiang Jiawei in front of her.

Calmly, she twirled the dagger a few times, then without warning, drove it into Xiang Jiawei once more. She withdrew it quickly and stabbed again.

This was already the fourth time he had been stabbed. However, Chen Wan deliberately avoided any fatal injuries, as Xiang Jiawei was still useful to her.

"Tell your people to hurry," Chen Wan said coldly. "Or I can't guarantee how much longer you'll last."

With every word she spoke, Xiang Jiawei felt himself inch closer to death.

Although the wounds in his chest were not fatal, they were bleeding continuously. Xiang Jiawei no longer dared to delay. He grabbed the microphone and shouted at his subordinates below the platform:

"Hurry up! Do you not understand what I'm saying? If anything happens to me today, I'll make sure you all go down with me. None of you will escape. Drop your guns!"

The people below were completely stunned.

In just a few minutes, their young master had already been stabbed multiple times by the woman behind him. Thinking of the wealth and influence tied to Xiang Jiawei, they had no choice but to comply. One by one, they moved toward the pool, throwing their firearms into the water. The heavier weapons sank to the bottom.

Chen Wan did not immediately remove the dagger from Xiang Jiawei's chest. Instead, she freed her hands to bind him securely, then instructed Qin Ke to keep watch over him.

She casually glanced at the discarded firearms, picked up a light machine gun, and collected ammunition from the others, stuffing it into her pockets. She also gathered additional rifle rounds and handed them to Qin Ke.

At that moment, Zhou Hua suddenly rushed toward Qin Ke.

He believed Chen Wan was ruthless, but Qin Ke might be more approachable. This was his chance—if he could save Xiang Jiawei now, there might still be hope. If Xiang Jiawei were stabbed a few more times, everything would be lost.

Seeing Zhou Hua charging forward, Qin Ke kicked Xiang Jiawei to the ground and raised her gun. As Zhou Hua leapt toward her, two gunshots rang out.

Zhou Hua stared in disbelief at the blood pouring from his chest, unable to comprehend how Qin Ke had shot him so calmly. Moments later, he collapsed to the ground and did not rise again.

At the same time, Chen Wan also moved. She picked up the machine gun and began firing indiscriminately at the enemies on the platform. The gunfire was relentless, echoing across the area.

The people on the platform scattered in panic. Zhang Shao, dressed in beach shorts, fell on the spot, and many of Xiang Jiawei's subordinates were cut down by Chen Wan.

Qin Ke had already secured the stairway, firing at those attempting to escape. Liang Shao and Li Shao, fleeing in chaos, were both shot down and did not survive.

Chen Wan continued sweeping the area with the machine gun. When one ran out of ammunition, she discarded it and picked up another, maintaining continuous fire. Gradually, fewer and fewer people remained on the platform.

Terrified, some of Xiang Jiawei's subordinates jumped off the platform, suffering broken limbs—or, in a few cases, surviving by luck.

Soon, the platform fell into brief silence before chaos erupted below. Many of the remaining henchmen fled in panic.

Chen Wan then switched to a rifle and targeted the fleeing enemies. Gunfire, cries for help, and footsteps of retreat echoed throughout the villa.

When Xiang Jiawei hosted similar gatherings, he preferred not to be disturbed, so he kept the electronic gate closed. The remote control was on his person—a small but sophisticated device resembling a keychain.

With the gate sealed, panic spread. Many people rushed into the building in desperation.

Meanwhile, the situation in the pool had reversed.

Without the armed thugs on shore, the Omegas in the water now outnumbered the Alphas by roughly five to one. In the ensuing chaos, the fleeing Alphas were quickly overwhelmed. Many Omegas who had been forced earlier now fought back with desperation. Some even retrieved firearms from the pool and used them against the Alphas.

Despite being submerged, many of the guns still functioned.

The pool was filled with cries for help, but no one came to their aid. The thugs had already retreated into the five-story villa.

After expending seven or eight light machine guns, Chen Wan finally cleared the area. She slung two rifles over her shoulder, picked up another machine gun, and walked toward Xiang Jiawei.

Seeing the scene, Xiang Jiawei wet himself in fear. Crying, he begged:

"Please spare me… I beg you. I can give you anything—power, women—anything you want. Just spare my life…"

Chen Wan smiled faintly and replied, "I don't intend to kill you, but there are conditions."

"Really? Thank you! Thank you!" Xiang Jiawei said quickly. "From now on, I'm your dog. I'll do whatever you say. I'll make my subordinates obey you, and everything here will belong to you…"

Chen Wan shook her head. "I don't want any of that. I only need one thing—you must tell me how to open your villa's gate."

Relieved, Xiang Jiawei immediately explained that the remote was in his pocket, with only two buttons: open and close. Pressing "open" would unlock the gate.

Chen Wan retrieved the remote and smiled. "You misunderstood me. I said I wouldn't kill you, but I didn't say you'd be safe."

She dragged him down from the platform and walked toward the pool.

The Alphas in the pool had already been subdued by the Omegas. The crowd fell silent as Chen Wan approached.

She tossed Xiang Jiawei to the ground like discarded trash and addressed everyone:

"Xiang Jiawei is here. He has harmed many of you. You can decide how to deal with him. Everyone gather at the gate later. I'll ensure you all leave safely."

Grateful voices rose in response as the survivors thanked her repeatedly.

Chen Wan simply nodded. "I don't need anything from you. Just take care of yourselves. This place has harmed too many people—I don't plan to leave it as it is. There are still many of his subordinates inside. I intend to burn this place down. Wait for me at the gate. After I set the fire, I'll open it for everyone."

The crowd agreed wholeheartedly, expressing anger toward the place and those who had caused their suffering.

At that moment, several male Omegas rushed toward Xiang Jiawei and began attacking him. His desperate pleas were drowned out as the crowd vented their fury. Chen Wan did not intervene—his fate was already sealed in their hands.

She and Qin Ke then discussed their next steps, each carrying multiple weapons.

"We need to be careful when we go in. There may still be armed people inside," Chen Wan said. "After setting the fire, we'll retreat to the gate and leave immediately."

Qin Ke nodded. "Since this is a standalone villa, the fire won't harm innocent people. Let's proceed."

At that moment, a female Omega suddenly called out Chen Wan's name and ran toward her.

Chen Wan turned toward the voice, momentarily unable to recognize her. As the woman approached with tears in her eyes, Chen Wan raised her weapon and warned coldly:

"Stop. One more step and I'll shoot."

The woman froze.

Pointing at herself, she cried, "Chen Wan, I'm Wu Qianran. Don't you remember me? Before the apocalypse, you said you would divorce Jiang Yanxin and be with me… Have you forgotten?"

Hearing this, Qin Ke's expression subtly changed as she glanced at Chen Wan, clearly intrigued by the unexpected revelation.

But seeing Chen Wan's behavior in the RV, Qin Ke thought Chen Wan wouldn't even dare say "no" to Jiang Yanxin.

So where did she get the courage to divorce?
