Zhou Hua led Chen Wan and Qin Ke to a towering villa—nearly five stories high.
It stood out sharply from the surrounding buildings, with a large swimming pool outside, complete with a water slide. Loud music blasted through the air as a party raged on.
Chen Wan frowned slightly."There's electricity here?"
Zhou Hua shot her a contemptuous glance."Of course. Zones A and B have full power and water supply. Only people from Zones C and D act like they've never seen the world. Stop talking and move."
They were dragged forward, the pounding music growing louder. But the clearer the noise became, the calmer Chen Wan's mind grew.
Her gaze shifted toward the pool—
—and what she saw made her eyes darken.
Several male alphas were chasing terrified Omegas in the water like prey. One Omega, stripped of his last piece of clothing, couldn't bear the humiliation and climbed out.
A gunshot rang out.
He collapsed lifelessly at the edge of the pool.
Above it all, on a raised platform, a man lounged with a microphone in hand—Xiang Jiawei.
"I told you," he said lazily, his voice amplified, "your job today is to entertain my guests. Whatever they want, you obey. Anyone who comes out of the pool—dies."
His words sent the people below into deeper panic.
They scattered, desperate.
But there was no escape.
Stay in the water, and they would be hunted. Step out, and they would be shot.
Xiang Jiawei watched with clear enjoyment, his lips curling into a smile. The platform beneath him had been built solely for this—his personal stage.
He no longer found satisfaction in simple indulgence.
Watching people struggle like trapped animals… that excited him.
Around him sat several well-dressed men—wealthy heirs even before the apocalypse, now even more powerful. Their families had controlled food supplies, supermarkets, and resources. In this broken world, that made them untouchable.
"Damn, Young Master Xiang," one of them laughed. "This is next-level entertainment."
Another added casually, as if discussing nothing more than a game, "The last two couldn't even last a night."
None of them spoke as if lives mattered.
To them, this was amusement.
Xiang Jiawei barely listened. His attention had already shifted.
He had spotted Chen Wan and Qin Ke being led in.
Even from a distance, his eyes gleamed.
"They're here," he said with a grin. "Looks like I'll be enjoying these two myself."
"They that special?" one of the others asked.
Xiang Jiawei smirked."I don't like weak ones. Too boring. I prefer alphas—especially the ones who fight back."
He picked up a walkie-talkie."Zhou Hua. Bring them to the platform."
"Understood."
Zhou Hua dragged Chen Wan and Qin Ke up the steps.
As they climbed higher, the full scene came into view.
Gunshots.
Screams.
Bodies collapsing by the poolside.
Chen Wan's expression remained calm, but her gaze sharpened.
Beside her, Qin Ke's fists clenched tightly, her breathing uneven. The scene stirred memories she had long buried—dark, suffocating memories she would never forget.
They were pulled onto the platform.
Xiang Jiawei looked them over, his eyes filled with undisguised greed.
"What a pity Kaizi's dead," he said. "Otherwise, I would've rewarded him. These two… perfect."
He stepped closer, studying their faces.
"So cold. So distant," he murmured. "The more they resist, the better."
One of the men laughed."Don't tell me you're keeping them all to yourself again."
Xiang Jiawei waved a hand dismissively."You wouldn't enjoy them anyway. After I'm done, I'll send them to you."
"Alive?" someone joked.
Laughter erupted.
Zhou Hua handed over the rope.
For a brief moment, he hesitated.
He remembered what these women had done to Kaizi's group.
But the ropes were thick, tightly bound—no ordinary person could break them.
And they had been quiet the entire time.
He dismissed the thought.
Nothing would go wrong.
Xiang Jiawei took the rope and stepped closer, wanting to see fear in their eyes.
But there was none.
Only stillness.
That made his smile widen.
He reached out, intending to touch Chen Wan's face—
And in that instant—
Everything changed.
The rope snapped free.
Chen Wan moved like lightning.
She seized Xiang Jiawei, looping the rope around his neck in one swift motion, tightening it with lethal precision.
At the same time, Qin Ke's restraints were torn away.
It all happened in seconds.
So fast—
that by the time anyone reacted—
Xiang Jiawei was already in Chen Wan's grasp, the rope cutting into his throat.
