Yi Yi chatted with Chen Wan for a while, then looked at Qin Ke, who had been sitting quietly without joining the conversation, and smiled, "Why aren't you talking to me? Aren't you curious about me?"
Qin Ke wasn't much of a talker to begin with.
Seeing Yi Yi ask her, she straightened up and replied, "Chen Wan asked everything I wanted to know, so I pretty much got it."
"Really? Aren't you curious about your girlfriend?" Yi Yi raised an eyebrow at Qin Ke.
Hearing the mention of her girlfriend, Qin Ke's face suddenly turned cold.
It was a scar she didn't want others to touch, and she especially didn't want Yan Yan to be brought up casually.
Seeing Qin Ke's expression change, Yi Yi quickly explained, "I didn't mean anything by it, just that your girlfriend can come back."
At Yi Yi's words, Chen Wan was stunned.
She exchanged a glance with Jiang Yanxin, who was puzzled about what Yi Yi was saying.
After all, Qin Ke's girlfriend, Shen Mingyan, had been reduced to ashes in that fire, so how could she come back?
Qin Ke's eyes reddened, staring intently at Yi Yi.
She even grabbed Yi Yi's wrist, her voice trembling, "How can she come back? She's already gone. I don't want you to joke about her."
Yi Yi, though a bionic being, had sensations similar to a human.
Qin Ke's grip hurt her, and she winced, pulling her wrist back with a slightly displeased look at Qin Ke before continuing, "I'm not joking. It's the apocalypse now. If I can appear out of nowhere, what can't be explained? I kept your girlfriend's crystal core. As long as the core is intact, her core consciousness is still there. We just need to create a new body for her, and she can come back."
Qin Ke was already in tears, apologizing to Yi Yi with a sob, "I'm sorry, I got too emotional and hurt you. Is what you said true? Can I really see her again?"
Yi Yi, sitting across from Chen Wan, saw this human not only in tears but also speaking with a pleading tone.
Understanding the significance of tears, a unique human expression of sadness, Yi Yi became serious, "I already said she can come back, but she needs a new body, like mine. So we need to find a lot of materials to make a bionic body, which aren't easy to find in this world."
"I'll find them. Whatever you need, I'll get it, even if it kills me. Just bring her back, and I'll do anything," Qin Ke said, her excitement making her incoherent.
Yi Yi noticed the emotional turmoil in the human before her and continued, "As far as I know, there's a robotics lab in Funan City, the largest in the country. We should be able to get a lot of what we need there. Making a detailed bionic human requires a lot of actuators, motors, controllers, sensors, effectors, steel, a lot of memory alloys, bionic skin, and more. And we need a lot, not just one or two."
Yi Yi glanced at everyone and continued, "Once we have these materials, we can create a body that looks just like her previous one. Then, by activating her with the crystal core, she'll have a second life. Although her essence will be an upgradeable zombie, due to her unique body, she won't have the urge to attack humans. Think of her as an upgradeable bionic human. If we find all the materials, she'll be just like me, no different from you except in structure."
Yi Yi's words left the three people present stunned.
Qin Ke, with red eyes, stared at Yi Yi for a long time before snapping back to reality and urgently asking, "Then let's hurry and find the materials."
Yi Yi nodded, "Most of the materials are in Funan City. As for steel and such, we can collect it along the way."
Qin Ke, with red eyes, quickly thanked her, "Thank you, thank you for helping me save her."
As she spoke, Qin Ke's tears flowed like a flood, and she collapsed onto the table, crying uncontrollably, "I miss her so much. As long as I can see her again, I'll do anything. From now on, my life belongs to both Chen Wan and you."
"Hey, why would I want your life? You should keep it to spend time with your girlfriend," Yi Yi said, sitting there.
"Yi Yi, why didn't you tell me about this at the police station?" Chen Wan interjected.
"I wanted to, but I wasn't as intelligent then. When the RV was at level 2, I was only at level 2. I can only do what you asked or commanded. I couldn't say anything even if I wanted to. It was almost suffocating," Yi Yi complained.
Chen Wan nodded, "I thought she was really gone after the fire. Who knew you had such advanced functions? Now our little family will have a new member."
"Of course, I'm very capable," Yi Yi said proudly, leaning back on the sofa.
Seeing Qin Ke still crying, Chen Wan quickly patted her back and handed her a tissue, "Qin Ke, this is a good thing. Her coming back is better than anything. It's good to cry, let out all the pent-up emotions, and then we'll work together to gather all the materials."
Qin Ke, wiping her tears, continued to sob on the table, "I just didn't expect to really see her again. I'm happy, not crying."
Chen Wan chuckled, handing her another tissue, "Alright, you're not crying. We're all happy with this good news."
While the adults were gathered in the small dining area, Yang Yang rubbed her eyes and sat up, noticing that Mom and Mammy weren't there.
Feeling anxious, she slid off the bed, put on her shoes, and ran to the room door.
The doorknob was too high for her to reach, so she anxiously patted the door with her little hands, calling out, "Mom, Mammy, Auntie~ I'm awake."
Hearing Yang Yang's little voice, Chen Wan quickly went to open the door.
Yang Yang, seeing Mammy, immediately ran over and hugged Chen Wan's leg.
Chen Wan picked up the little one, pinched Yang Yang's cheek, and said softly, "Our baby is awake? Mammy will take you to wash up and change clothes, okay?"
Yang Yang nodded her head obediently, "Okay~" As long as someone was there to play with her, she was happy.
Thinking this, Yang Yang clung tightly to her Mammy's neck.
Chen Wan took the little one to wash up and changed Yang Yang into a black and white cow-patterned short and T-shirt set.
Yang Yang looked just like a little calf, adorable.
Carrying Yang Yang out, Chen Wan noticed the unfamiliar person in their RV.
Yang Yang pointed at Yi Yi with her hand and asked, "Mammy, who is that pretty sister?"
"That's your Auntie Yi Yi. Call her Auntie, or you'll get the generation wrong," Chen Wan said with a smile, kissing Yang Yang's cheek.
Yi Yi had long wanted to hold Yang Yang, but hadn't had the chance.
Now, seeing Yang Yang, Yi Yi immediately reached out to hold her.
Chen Wan, amused, asked the shy little Yang Yang in her arms, "Do you want to go to Auntie?"
Yang Yang looked at Yi Yi, blushing, and nodded.
Auntie was pretty, and she wanted to play with her.
Yi Yi picked up Yang Yang and immediately started chatting with him, "How old are you, little one?"
"I'm three and a half," Yang Yang replied, curiously glancing at this new auntie with his big eyes.
Yi Yi was completely charmed by the little guy.
Is this the cuteness of a human child? "You're so well-behaved.
How about Auntie plays with you in the future? I'll tell you lots and lots of nice stories." Yi Yi knew the little one liked stories, so she started coaxing her.
Yang Yang was immediately hooked and quickly nodded her head, "Okay, then, Auntie, you have to tell me stories."
Chen Wan saw that Yang Yang and Yi Yi were getting along well, so she went over to check on Qin Ke.
Qin Ke was feeling a bit better now, though her eyes were still red.
However, she seemed to have found hope, relaxing a bit, and the gloom that had been hanging over her dissipated with the recent conversation.
Many nights, she had trouble sleeping, the issue with her girlfriend still a lingering pain in her heart.
But now everything seemed better.
As long as her Yan Yan could come back, it was all worth it, regardless of the form—human, zombie, or android—as long as it was still her Yan Yan.
The heavy stone in Qin Ke's heart finally settled, and she got up to wash her face and calm down in the bathroom.
Chen Wan cooked noodles for Yang Yang and Jiang Yanxin since they hadn't had breakfast yet.
As for the system, it didn't need to eat; as long as there was energy, the android structure was fine without food.
Yi Yi was still chatting with Yang Yang and Jiang Yanxin.
It seemed she really meant it when she said she was bursting to talk, as she hadn't stopped talking since she appeared.
Chen Wan shook her head with a smile.
After Jiang Yanxin and the others finished eating, Qin Ke came out of the bathroom after washing her face.
Chen Wan, as if remembering something, asked the system, "Yi Yi, how do we get to the second floor of the RV?"
"It's over by the bunk beds, at the foot of the bed. There's a small elevator that goes straight up and down, so you don't have to climb stairs. Just press the button for the second floor after you get in," Yi Yi explained, clearly familiar with everything in the RV.
"Let's go upstairs and take a look," Chen Wan suggested with a smile.
Everyone followed Chen Wan to the bunk bed area, where they found a small space at the foot of the bed that turned into a single-person elevator.
Chen Wan was the first to enter with Yang Yang, pressed the button for the second floor, and a few seconds later, the elevator doors opened, and she stepped out with Yang Yang.
The little guy exclaimed, "Wow," clearly surprised that the RV had a second floor.
After Chen Wan, everyone else gradually made their way to the second floor.
Chen Wan looked around and saw that the second floor's layout was similar to the first, with bunk beds, a bathroom, a cooking stove, and a sink in almost the same positions.
Even the bathroom structure was the same, but instead of a driver's seat at the front, there was a small round table with two rocking chairs.
"This is great.
Now we have a lot more space, even if it's just for storing supplies," Chen Wan said as she looked around.
"Of course, every time the RV levels up, its functions get optimized, so it just keeps getting better," Yi Yi said matter-of-factly.
"That way, when we go to Funan City to pick up Yanxin's family and help Qin Ke reactivate Yan Yan, we won't have to worry about space," Chen Wan said, feeling happy just thinking about it.
The smile on Qin Ke's face grew, and now everyone was eager to head to Funan City.
After casually looking around the second floor, they all went back down to the first floor.
Jiang Yanxin tidied up the pots and bowls from the noodles she and Yang Yang had just eaten.
Chen Wan planned to continue driving towards Funan City as soon as Jiang Yanxin finished cleaning up.
But just then, they heard the sound of chaotic footsteps approaching the RV from a distance.
