As expected, Paragus took the second option.
Surely, in the back of his mind, the old man hoped that Zaiko would change his mind in the future or that an opportunity would arise to manipulate the situation in his favor.
That, of course, was never going to happen.
Knowing they had reached an agreement, Zaiko had finally allowed the old man to get up from the ground, where he had forced him to stay during the entire conversation.
"Stay still," Zaiko suddenly ordered him.
Without warning, he raised his free hand and aimed his open palm directly at Paragus's face.
Seeing the gesture, the old man panicked instantly.
Remembering the monstrous display of power from a few minutes ago, Paragus stumbled backwards awkwardly, raising his healthy arm to cover himself.
"Wait! What are you doing?! Stop!" he yelled, breaking into a cold sweat, completely convinced that Zaiko had tricked him and was about to eliminate him right there.
But instead of what he expected, a warm, glowing white light burst from Zaiko's palm, completely enveloping his battered body.
The pain disappeared in an instant.
His right arm, which minutes before had been snapped in two like a dry branch, cracked softly as the bones, muscles, and nerves returned to their original position.
In the blink of an eye, his arm was completely healed.
Realizing what had just happened, Paragus lowered his guard and looked at his recovered arm with absolute surprise, opening and closing his fist to check that it worked perfectly.
Zaiko, for his part, simply looked at him with a deeply amused expression.
"What's wrong? Did you think I was going to kill you?" Zaiko asked, with a mocking tone that made it clear how funny he found the situation.
"N-No! Of course not!" Paragus exclaimed quickly, trying to recover even a shred of dignity. "You imagined it!"
But Zaiko didn't stop looking at him with that half-smile full of mockery, which caused Paragus to frown and let out an annoyed growl, looking away towards the ground to avoid enduring the humiliation any longer.
Leaving the old man with his wounded pride, Zaiko's gaze shifted down toward the woman he was still holding in his arms.
Broly was still sound asleep, but instinctively rubbed her cheek lightly against his chest, seeking comfort.
Her mouth was slightly open and, to Zaiko's surprise, she was lazily drooling on the green fabric of his Gi.
Furthermore, one of her hands had firmly grasped the clothes on his chest, refusing to let go.
Clearly, she felt immensely comfortable being carried by him.
Seeing this image, Zaiko couldn't help but let out a soft laugh.
Paragus, observing the scene from the side, simply clicked his tongue in annoyance, not daring to voice his opinion out loud.
Of course, Zaiko healed her too.
Broly's body was enveloped in the same comforting white light.
Every single one of the small scratches, bruises, and cuts she had suffered during their clash healed instantly, returning her skin to its flawless appearance.
But then, something unexpected happened.
To Zaiko's surprise, his healing power went a bit beyond simply closing superficial wounds, as he expected.
At the base of Broly's spine, a thick, dark brown furry appendage began to grow rapidly.
In a matter of seconds, Broly had regained her tail, which now hung downwards.
Paragus muffled a scream, watching the scene with his eyes wide with horror and surprise.
He never expected Broly to ever regain her tail, the very same one he had cut off when she was just a little girl.
Paragus remembered the day he found Broly.
Broly had recently transformed into a Great Ape by accident upon looking at the full moon that illuminated Vampa's night.
In that state, the little girl had almost completely destroyed the entire planet, obliterating everything.
He didn't need anything more than to look around to realize that.
That was why, while she was exhausted and unconscious, Paragus made the harsh and drastic decision to amputate her tail to ensure his own survival.
If she had transformed again by accident and he had been nearby...
Paragus didn't want to imagine the result.
Meanwhile, Zaiko blinked a couple of times, still surprised.
"Wow... I didn't expect this to happen," he muttered to himself in a low voice, before shrugging with a calm smile, brushing it off. "But well, I guess it's fine, this isn't a bad thing."
As someone who knew of the existence of transformations like Super Saiyan 4, Broly's tail returning to her was, without a doubt, the best thing that could have happened.
Just imagining Broly in Super Saiyan 4 with her green hair made Zaiko feel excited.
That was when his expression changed and he looked at Paragus with absolute seriousness, stretching out one of his hands, keeping it open in a clear show of demand.
Paragus, seeing the extended palm in front of him, simply grunted.
With his brow deeply furrowed, he rummaged inside the pocket of his worn armor, feeling cornered.
"I hope you know what you're doing," he warned reluctantly, taking out a small remote control device. "If you free Broly and she completely loses control, she can cause huge problems. You have no idea the magnitude of the disaster that..."
Zaiko simply ignored him, turning a deaf ear, snatching the device Paragus used to activate Broly's collar right out of his hands.
«Has this guy already forgotten my fight against Broly from just a few minutes ago?», Zaiko thought, raising an eyebrow.
Hadn't he seen how he had knocked her unconscious with a single, simple blow to the back of the neck?
Even if Broly woke up, completely lost control, and managed to immediately transform into the Legendary Super Saiyan, Zaiko knew he wouldn't have much trouble subduing her again.
Sure, if it were the Broly who faced Gogeta, things would undoubtedly be very different... but the woman resting in his arms was still very far from reaching that absurd level of power.
All this made Zaiko think again about the exact moment in the story he was in.
A question assaulted his mind.
How many years had Paragus and Broly spent on Planet Vampa?
From what he remembered of canon, both spent approximately 5 years surviving on this miserable planet before Planet Vegeta was destroyed by Frieza, the exact same moment Bardock decided to send Goku—known as Kakarot at that time—to Earth.
The only way to find this out and square the timeline was by asking Paragus directly.
"Hey, old man," Zaiko asked with a tone of curiosity. "How many years have you been trapped here on Vampa?"
Paragus crossed his arms, his expression darkening upon hearing him call him old man once again.
"Thirty-five years have passed," he replied dryly.
Hearing this, Zaiko felt a twitch take over one of his eyebrows.
Thirty-five years... that was a long time.
That meant he was only 10 years older than Broly...
Shaking his head, shaking off that unholy thought, he quickly did the math in his head.
That meant that on Earth, Dr. Gero, the scientific mastermind and mad genius behind the Red Ribbon Army, had already created the Androids.
He finally knew exactly what moment in the history of Dragon Ball Super he was in.
It was the Android Saga.
"So I arrived at the perfect time..." Zaiko muttered to himself, with a smile full of anticipation.
Although, thinking about it, he would have preferably liked to be sent a bit earlier, perhaps in the Namek Saga.
It would have been incredibly satisfying and fun for him to be the Saiyan who caused Frieza lifelong trauma, and not Son Goku.
Unfortunately, they hadn't let him choose.
And if they had, he undoubtedly would have never chosen to appear on Planet Vampa...
He looked around with a sneer of contempt, sweeping his gaze over the surrounding landscape.
He had had enough of this place. It wasn't something he wanted to prolong for even a second more.
"That's enough," Zaiko said, turning his sights back to Paragus. "It's time to leave this disgusting planet once and for all."
Paragus nodded firmly, his eyes shining with joy, although his face didn't show such feeling.
"Lead the way, I'll follow you to wherever you have your ship hidden!" he exclaimed, straightening his back as best he could.
Zaiko let out a sigh laden with annoyance and rolled his eyes.
"Didn't you hear me before, old man?" he repeated with a bored tone. "I already told you I don't have any ship. Just hold onto my shoulder."
Paragus blinked in absolute confusion and looked at Zaiko with obvious distrust.
No Saiyan could survive the vacuum of space for very long.
No matter how powerful Zaiko was, it was simply impossible.
So... What did he mean by not having a ship?
However, seeing the seriousness in Zaiko's eyes, Paragus swallowed his doubts.
He approached slowly, extending his hand, and placed it on his shoulder.
"I hope you don't intend for us to jump into space..." Paragus managed to mutter, but he couldn't finish the sentence.
At that precise instant, a pure and blinding white light erupted from Zaiko's body, enveloping all three of them completely.
In a blink, Kai-Kai had fulfilled its function, folding space and time.
When the light dissipated and Paragus was able to open his eyes again, the landscape had radically changed.
His feet now stepped on strangely bluish grass.
The air was fresh, pure, and very different from what he had breathed for so many years.
Paragus looked up in awe, seeing three suns shining in a sky of a soft turquoise-green color.
As for Zaiko...
He simply smiled.
They had arrived on New Namek.
