In Tokyo, at Saeki Tadashi's mansion, many Police Officers were already surrounding the area. Nakamori Ginzo, an Inspector from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, Investigation Section 2, Intelligent Crimes Unit, was leading a team inside the mansion, questioning Saeki Tadashi.
In the living room, Nakamori Ginzo stood by the French windows, observing the Police Officers' deployment outside. He then turned to the middle-aged man sitting on the sofa in the center of the living room and said, "Mr. Saeki, can't you tell the Police where the 'tears of moonlight' is being kept? Without the exact location, it's difficult for us to allocate Police Officers for its protection."
"There's no need for that."
Saeki Tadashi, the man on the sofa, took a sip of his tea and said unhurriedly, "I've seen how that Kaito Kid managed to succeed before; even with layers of Police protection, the gem was still stolen. So this time, I don't plan to reveal the gem's location. After all, if even the Police don't know the location, then that Kaito Kid can't possibly find it, can he?"
"But what if that guy already knows the collection location? He's already sent a Notice letter (heist notice)!"
Nakamori Ginzo was furious at Saeki Tadashi's attitude. He turned and walked over to Saeki Tadashi, saying.
"So, have the Police deciphered the content of the Notice letter (heist notice)?"
Saeki Tadashi retorted, "Does the Notice letter (heist notice) specify where that Kaito Kid will appear from?"
"Ah, no..."
Nakamori Ginzo found this question difficult to answer.
"All we know for now is that he will appear sometime today, during Bailu (White Dew). The rest hasn't been deciphered yet."
"In that case, there's no guarantee that the content of the Notice letter (heist notice) isn't a bluff. If the Police start protecting it, wouldn't that be indirectly telling him where the item is?"
Saeki Tadashi said confidently.
Just then, a Police Officer ran over to Nakamori Ginzo and reported in a low voice.
"Um, Inspector Nakamori, Hakuba Saguru, the son of the Police Superintendent General, just asked to borrow two people from us. We're not sure what he wants to do."
"That Hakuba kid? He's back in the country?"
Nakamori Ginzo was a bit puzzled. "Why would he borrow people? Could it be that he's deciphered the content of the Notice letter (heist notice)?"
"I'm not sure, he just said it's a secret."
"Seriously, always picking the perfect time to cause trouble. Just assign two people to him."
After Nakamori Ginzo finished speaking, he continued to converse with Saeki Tadashi, hoping to make him relent.
But clearly, Saeki Tadashi had no intention of cooperating with the Police, as he was very confident that the location where the 'tears of moonlight' was stored was a place no one could imagine—and besides, it wouldn't matter even if that thing were stolen!
Just then, a young female voice came from outside the door:
"Uncle Saeki!"
Hearing this, a young woman walked in from outside the door.
She was a woman of about twenty, with long, golden, shoulder-length hair, dressed very fashionably, with a playful, somewhat whimsical charm. Following closely behind her was another woman, also around twenty, with black hair and a dignified and beautiful appearance.
As soon as the blonde woman entered, she ran to Saeki Tadashi and asked, "Uncle Saeki, why are there so many Police Officers here today?"
"Mr. Saeki, who are these two?"
Nakamori Ginzo was somewhat wary of the two who had suddenly arrived.
"Oh, this is my niece, Hanada Emi. As for this one... Xiaohui, aren't you going to introduce her?"
The blonde woman named Hanada Emi immediately ran behind the black-haired woman and began to introduce her.
"This is Hirota Masami, a friend from my university days. I was originally out with her, but we passed by your mansion, Uncle, and saw so many Police Officers, so we came to take a look."
"Hello, my name is Hirota Masami."
The woman who introduced herself as Hirota Masami greeted Saeki Tadashi and the others.
"Oh, I see. There's nothing going on here. Since you have plans with your friend, you two should go ahead."
Saeki Tadashi said.
"Then, we won't bother you anymore."
Hanada Emi said, then pulled Hirota Masami and left.
Watching the two leave, Nakamori Ginzo looked at the man who seemed somewhat indifferent despite receiving Kaito Kid's Notice letter (heist notice), feeling a helpless anger.
"Mr. Saeki, since you refuse to cooperate, as the Police, we have a duty to guard all properties under your name."
"Please do."
Saeki Tadashi maintained this attitude, which greatly angered Nakamori Ginzo, who then turned and walked out of the mansion with his Police Officers.
Outside, the assistant Police Officer asked, "Inspector Nakamori, do we really need to send Police Officers to guard all of Saeki Tadashi's properties? We don't have enough manpower for that!"
"Idiot! Of course I know that!"
Nakamori Ginzo said angrily, "Where did those two Police Officers Hakuba Saguru borrowed go?"
"Oh, that, it seems they were sent to a small museum under Saeki's name."
Hearing this, Nakamori Ginzo pondered for a moment.
"Alright, send a large number of Police Officers to guard outside that museum, and remember to be discreet!"
Nakamori Ginzo made his deployment... As night fell, Tokyo still displayed the unique prosperity of a metropolis. Even nearing eleven o'clock at night, most shops remained open.
In a secluded corner of Ginza, a coffee shop named "Kashu" had only a few customers. Among them, a young man with short brown hair sat at a table, occasionally taking out his pocket watch to check the time.
Just then, the bell on the door jingled as it opened, and a man in a blue trench coat entered the coffee shop. He was, of course, Takato.
Takato glanced around at the sparse number of people in the coffee shop, then walked directly to the brown-haired young man.
"Excuse me, may I share this table?"
The young man looked up at Takato, then glanced around at the almost empty seats, appearing somewhat puzzled, but ultimately did not object. So, Takato sat down opposite the young man.
Hakuba Saguru was the young man's name, and he was also a relatively important Detective character in the Detective Conan world, whom Takato recognized as soon as he entered the coffee shop.
"Do you know about the exiled hero of the gods?"
Suddenly, Takato asked.
Hakuba Saguru did not speak, merely waiting for the man in front of him to continue.
"The exiled hero of the gods refers to Perseus in Greek mythology. Perseus is an alternative name for the constellation Perseus."
"And the constellation Perseus passes through the upper meridian annually on November 7th. However, the Notice letter (heist notice) clearly states that the date is Bailu (White Dew), so November 7th is not a hint for the date, but for the time, which is 11:07."
Upon hearing this, Hakuba Saguru's gaze towards Takato became more serious.
"Oh, from what you're saying, it seems you've deciphered Kaito Kid's Notice letter (heist notice)? So, how do you interpret the first two lines of the Notice letter (heist notice)?"
"The first line, 'It is autumn now, but it speaks of spring.''Spring' refers to the character for 'he' (millet) in 'autumn' (Autumn), which means grain shoots. The second line,'Summer, tears are the only source of water,' means there is no water. 'Vast continent' (vast continents), the character 'zhou' (continent) without water becomes 'zhou' (state). Therefore, the conclusion is this coffee shop named 'Kashu' (Hezhou), which is under the collector Saeki Tadashi's name."
Takato revealed the answer, then looked at the young man in front of him.
"I'm right, aren't I, Hakuba Saguru? No, I should call you, Kaito Kid!"
