ELARA'S POV.
"Help! Help…. Somebody…. Anyone!" My voice came out faint.
I tried as much as I could to get up on my feet, yet my body lay stiff in the ground. Ten minutes later, the scalding hot pain I felt inside me stopped. I could only feel a tingle on my feet.
However, my body refused to yield to my own will. I played there for an hour longer until my visions almost became blurry. I thought that I had died.
I found myself questioning if this was really the Afterlife. The hype around it was distasteful. Where were the angels? The cloudy homes? White gowns and all. I didn't sign up to lay stiff on the ground like a tree lying sideways.
My phone buzzed with a call. I desperately wanted to pick up. The thought of someone calling me pleased me, even if it was Raya.
"Pick up!" I coughed out, raising my voice higher. The least I could hope for was that my AI control would pick the call and I would cry for help.
"Hello…"
