Yet the instant it touched the golden radiance, it came to an abrupt halt, as though it had fallen into an invisible swamp.

Warwick was horrified to discover that the golden light had not only trapped him, but had also drastically slowed his movements.
Waves of instinctive rejection and searing pain surged from the depths of his body.
His heart sank.
There was something deeply unnatural about this golden light.
The corners of Gregor's mouth lifted slightly. His voice was calm and cold.
"It's over."
The golden radiance filling the sky suddenly closed in like a surging tidal wave, completely engulfing Warwick's enormous body.
The colossal serpent did not even have time to scream before every inch of its body dissolved beneath the golden light, fading into nothingness.
