John spoke indifferently.
The moment his words fell, a bolt of lightning descended from nowhere and struck the Ascension Trial challenger squarely in the chest.

The challenger's HP instantly plummeted to just one percent. He collapsed to the ground, coughing up mouthful after mouthful of blood.
"This… this isn't what the ancient records said!"
His face was filled with shock.
His teachers had clearly told him that the demigod-grade trial was not difficult at all—that practically anyone could pass it.
Yet at this moment, he could genuinely feel the shadow of death looming over him.
After briefly familiarizing himself with the controls available to the "trial examiner," John quickly lost interest.
