Chapter 11 - The nonchalant young master farms Aura

The creature was an abomination two and a half meters tall, endowed with grayish and scaly skin. Two obsidian horns pulsed on its forehead, releasing waves of chaotic energy.

Its face was hidden behind a mask whose frozen and sinister smile contrasted violently with the sharp claws that extended its fingers.

Lin Feng, his face covered in sweat and dust, tightened the guard of his golden sword. His dragon Qi boiled in his meridians.

" Well, it seems things are getting complicated " , remarked Xuan BaiShe. " For now, let us set aside our differences. I am going to help you get rid of it right away. After all, if BaiShe eliminated this Rakshasas would he take its remains as proof or would he leave it to him.

As proof of the creatures killed, one should harvest their horns and Lin Feng hesitated for a fraction of a second.

He wanted to refuse but reason eventually prevailed. He knew perfectly well that he could not defeat this creature alone.

A one-horned Rakshasas had no comparison with a two-horned one, it was even said that Rakshasas kings and queens were at least at the Heavenly King level.

Feng therefore nodded with a brief sign of the head, without uttering a word.

The Rakshasa did not give them time to finish their conversation. It suddenly leaped with a speed that defied understanding, largely exceeding the reflexes of an ordinary cultivator.

The distance separating them was covered in the blink of an eye, then the claws split the space with a sharp whistle. Lin Feng raised his sword to parry, but the impact proved to be of unheard-of brutality.

The force of the attack sent him flying backward, and his back violently struck a nearby rock. In the silence that followed, the dry crack of his ribs echoed while he spat blood.

A burst of golden light exploded around Lin Feng as he tried to regain the initiative, but the Rakshasa, imperturbable, crossed the qi discharges. It plunged its claws into Lin Feng's shoulder. The flesh was torn, and a jet of scarlet blood splashed the blackened ground.

" Aaaaaah ! Filthy monster ! " shouted Lin Feng, while his blood flowed abundantly, staining his disciple robe.

BaiShe observed the scene.

' Quite pathetic for a son of heaven... Is the dao tired or what !?'

< Arts: Illusory Swords>

With a simple movement of his sleeve, BaiShe made dozens of translucent Qi blades appear that floated around him before rushing at the abomination. The swords did not aim at the body, but at the joints.

The Rakshasa was forced to release Lin Feng to parry the rain of blades.

" Do not stay there moaning, martial brother ! Strike its abdomen while I contain it ! " ordered BaiShe, while remaining at a safe distance, hands behind his back.

Lin Feng, driven by rage and pain, got up. His red eyes shone. He concentrated all his Qi in his blade.

" Take this, you piece of trash ! "

He threw himself forward, his sword plunging deeply into the Rakshasa's belly. The blade crossed the scaly skin, and a flow of black and fetid liquid, a mixture of corrupted blood and pure Khao, spurted onto Lin Feng's face. The monster roared.

However, the Rakshasa was not yet dead. In a gesture of pure agony, it swept the air with its claws, but BaiShe grabbed Lin Feng by the collar and pulled him backward, avoiding the attack. The muscle was cleanly sectioned, revealing the white bone.

" You are much too reckless martial brother... Let me handle it. "

Seeing Lin Feng collapsed from fatigue, BaiShe advanced slowly to farm the aura of the nonchalant young master...

The Rakshasa, agonizing, its black intestines escaping from its abdominal wound and dragging on the ground, attempted one last attack.

A golden-rank technique he had learned in a self-taught manner from the books of his domain.

An aura of absolute cold emanated from his fingers. The frost spread instantly over the monster's body, freezing the black blood flowing from its wounds. The Rakshasa was immobilized, its porcelain mask cracking under the thermal pressure.

" Your existence is a logical error in this world... And the Dao does not want you. " murmured BaiShe.

He raised his right hand, and a very dense illusory sword materialized above the creature's head. With a gesture, the blade fell. It cut the mask, the skull and the torso of the Rakshasa into two perfectly equal parts.

The spectacle was atrocious. The head split open, releasing a grayish cerebral substance mixed with corrupted Qi.

The body opened, exposing atrophied organs that still pulsed with weak discharges of Khao before dissolving into purple smoke. The black blood spread into a puddle eroding the ground.

BaiShe remained standing in front of the divided corpse, showing no emotion. He took out a silk handkerchief to wipe a drop of black blood that had landed on his monocle.

[Ding ! You have helped a son of luck to survive. Lin Feng feels a life debt toward you. Luck points : +100.]

'Only a hundred points ? What a cheapskate... But this is only the beginning. The more he trusts me, the more delicious his fall will be.' he thought, while a smile formed on his lips.

Lin Feng, breathing with difficulty, sat down without even resting.

" Thank you... Brother BaiShe... I did not think you would be capable of such power... I was an idiot to doubt you... " he stammered.

BaiShe knelt near him, placing a compassionate hand on his uninjured shoulder.

" Do not speak, martial brother. Rest, I will use a talisman to stabilize your injuries... "

'Imbecile... If you knew that I let you get mutilated just to test the resistance of this Rakshasa...'

BaiShe took out a low-grade talisman, just powerful enough to heal his minor injuries. He wanted Lin Feng to remain handicapped and dependent on him for some time.

" Tell me, BaiShe... Why are you helping me so much ? You are the heir of an immortal family, and I am only a talented commoner... " asked Lin Feng, his guard completely dropping.

BaiShe smiled, a smile that never reached his eyes.

" As I said earlier, I am only responding to a request from Elder Xia Fei, " replied Xuan BaiShe.

" If it is not too bold of me, may I know the nature of your relationship ? "

" The nature ? She is an Elder of our sect. Is that not enough ? Of course, the only thing that interests me is the reward she plans to give me. "

" The reward ?" inquired Feng.

" Who knows, maybe she will give an immortal technique that can help me in my Cultivation ~~" he added with a slight smile.
