After exchanging their goodbyes, Master Harvey and Aria returned to their respective quarters to continue their meditation. Selene had intended to leave the sect once her three masters had gone, but Alaric remained where he was.
"Master, is there something you wish to discuss?"
"Did you use your given name while hiding among humans?"
"That's right. How did you know?"
"Then…" Alaric took out a golden scroll from his storage space. He unfurled it, revealing two names written upon it. "Is this Lina you?"
Selene blinked several times. She saw her name and Caelis's clearly written there. "Master, why is my marriage certificate in your possession?"
"Do you even understand what an imperial marriage certificate signifies?"
"Isn't it just a normal certificate?"
Alaric stroked his temples in resignation. "I knew you often skipped lessons, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I wonder how you survived these eight years?"
