Zephyr Sterling's answer was pretty much the same as Yvonne Lynch's: "How do I use it? Don't you just... use it when you want to? I don't consciously think about how to use it. When I need it, I just think about using it, and it works."
That was about as helpful as saying nothing at all, but it seemed to highlight the fundamental difference Faye felt between herself and them.
She could feel the power within her, but every time she tried to use it, she couldn't help but wonder, 'What kind of magic is this? What's the right way to use it?' and so on.
"When you first got your power, you probably didn't know it was a healing-type ability, right?"
Don't be fooled by Zephyr Sterling's age; although older than Faye Yardley, he had spent most of his life on Aquaria living in the mountains with limited human contact. His mind was even simpler than Faye's.
