Faye Yardley watched the constantly scrolling messages on the public channel, feeling much more relaxed as she sipped her milk tea.
Indeed, seeing how miserable others were made the bruises on her body seem less painful.
BEEP BEEP BEEP~
A friend message notification sounded.
Faye Yardley thought it was Zachary Pierce, but to her surprise, it was Bonnie Callahan.
Bonnie Callahan: "Miss Yardley, let's be blunt. I got a 30g bottle of medicinal spray for bruises and sprains from a treasure chest I fished up this morning. It should last for quite a few uses. If you have more than one pack of sanitary napkins, could you trade one to me? If I get more later and you need them, I'll give them to you first."
Although Faye Yardley hadn't opened her own chests yet, she knew a small bottle of spray like that was quite valuable right now. And she did have some need for it, though not a lot.
'But Bonnie Callahan is the type to plan ahead and is willing to trade valuable things. She's really worthy of being someone I invited to my private group.'
Faye Yardley didn't hesitate. She directly sent a pack of sanitary napkins over via a Red Envelope.
The other party quickly replied, "Thanks. If you ever need me for anything in the future, just say the word. Red Envelope."
After she claimed the Red Envelope, a small bottle of spray indeed appeared before her.
But now that she had the item, Faye Yardley looked at the faint bruises on her body and decided against using it. 'They'll probably heal on their own in a little while anyway.'
'This must be the rapid recovery ability that comes with increased Constitution.'
"No need to be so formal, Miss Callahan. What you traded me is just what I needed. Mwah! (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭~"
"(#^.^#) A pleasant transaction, wasn't it?"
Clearly, Bonnie Callahan on the other end was in a very good mood too.
A pack of sanitary napkins only contained ten pads, but all she needed was to get through the first day of her period, which would likely start right after the protection period ended. Based on her body's usual cycle, the flow would be very light after that. She could just endure it, changing only one pad a day to get by.
As for the few bruises she got from the unexpected hailstorm, she didn't care about them at all.
She was someone who had read all sorts of apocalypse-type novels online, including a few survival game ones.
Now that she was in one herself, it was natural to feel panicked, but she was more focused on protecting herself. She hoped to hold on until her parents could enter the game in two months.
She was born after her parents' careers had stabilized and they had sought medical help everywhere, so they were old enough that they could only be in the second batch of players.
Faye Yardley's eyes curved into a smile as she read the message. She was starting to like the girl on the other end. 'She doesn't try to take advantage of others, she's straightforward, and she works hard to get what she wants.'
'How great.'
'In reality, I should be a year older than her, but in the game, her Age is two years older than mine.'
Unlike Bonnie Callahan, who was waiting for two months, Faye's only relative was her older brother. Her family situation here was similar to her real life: her parents had died young, and after her brother inherited their estate, she had long since lost contact with her other relatives, according to her memories.
So, her brother was her only family.
Unfortunately, her brother wasn't in this District 101, and she had no idea where he was.
'I hope he'll show up during the first major cross-district event. Then I can use an item to contact him.'
After finishing her milk tea, Faye Yardley wanted to throw away the empty cup but was struck by a headache when she thought of her large trash can. She had already placed it at the very edge of the raft. 'It won't get blown away by the wind, will it?'
There was no point worrying now. From the sounds outside, she could tell the wind, rain, and hail hadn't stopped.
With nothing else to do, she first moved all the seafood she had caught and processed into her storage, if only for the storage's preservation function.
Her backpack instantly cleared out by more than half. In a single morning, she had fished up seven Wooden Treasure Chests and one Iron Treasure Box. This was likely more than what other people managed to get from dawn till dusk.
After all, every time she looked at the public channel, she couldn't help but feel that those people were having a really, really tough time.
Taking a deep breath, she took out an Iron Treasure Box. Faye Yardley then clasped her hands together and began her ritual. "Dearest, dearest System Daddy, please bless your incomparably cute and beautiful daughter with good stuff. If you do, I'll love you even more."
She opened the Iron Treasure Box.

"WAH WAH WAH! System Daddy, I love you!"
She put the extra blueprints in the coffee table's built-in drawer, placed the two different blueprints on the tabletop, and then took a picture to send to Zachary Pierce.
He didn't reply right away, but Faye wasn't in a hurry. She had something else to confirm. "System Daddy, is it possible to sign partnership contracts with other players? Are these contracts protected by the System?"
[As long as a player submits a contract through the trading market, pays the processing fee for a resource-based agreement, the contract will be supervised and protected by the System. Any party that fails to fulfill the contract will be punished by the System.]
"That's great. Thank you, System, for clearing that up."
Of these two blueprints, setting aside the heat packs for a moment, the market for sanitary napkins was absolutely huge. She had previously given the workshop blueprint to Zachary Pierce, and combined with these two new blueprints, it was practically guaranteed that the two of them would make a fortune.
This was a project with long-term potential; she wasn't foolish enough to sell it off for a one-time low price. She planned to negotiate with Zachary Pierce and sign a contract to get a percentage of the profits.
She was willing to take a smaller cut, even just five percent would be fine, but she had to have one.
With such a great start, it was only natural to keep opening chests.

Staring at the items from this chest, Faye Yardley wondered if she was seeing things.
'What's the use of this stuff here?'
'The System couldn't possibly think I'm illiterate and sent me a dictionary to brush up, could it?'
Shaking her head to dismiss the absurd thought, she continued opening chests.

Faye Yardley felt great about the things she got from this opening session. In fact, she wouldn't have felt bad no matter what she got.
Just then, the BEEP BEEP BEEP of a friend message notification sounded.
