He looked like he'd just been woken up. His hair was a messy, untamed mop, with a few strands falling carelessly across his forehead. His eyes held the grogginess of sleep and a trace of annoyance at being disturbed, yet deep within them lurked his usual cold, imperious air, like that of a languid predator.
The handsome lines of his muscles were exposed to the cool morning air. Broad shoulders tapered to a narrow waist, exuding a sense of wild power.
Seeing Josie frozen at the entrance, he arched an eyebrow. He seemed surprised, too, but that was quickly replaced by a complex, indescribable emotion.
