Not long after they entered the outskirts of the city, the team was advancing along a relatively open, frozen avenue when disaster struck!
"Hand over the food!"
A hoarse, frenzied roar erupted from the ruins of a half-collapsed shopping mall by the side of the road!
Immediately after, a dozen or so disheveled, emaciated figures rushed out like rabid, starving dogs.
Most were wrapped in tattered clothes, utterly insufficient against the cold. Their faces were covered in frostbite and despair, and their sunken eyes held nothing but a frenzied craving for food.
They clutched rusty steel pipes, broken chair legs, and even sharp icicles, lunging recklessly at the superpower users in the group who were carrying the supplies.
"Protect the supplies!" Sean Rowe roared. The superpower users on the perimeter immediately moved to intercept them.
However, these starving people had long since abandoned any regard for their own lives.
