Hearing the demand, Jodein's arrogant smile faltered slightly. The memory of their last meeting—where Dahmer's toxic pheromones had literally collapsed his lungs and caused him to cough up blood onto the counter—flashed vividly in his mind. He knew Dahmer was completely unhinged when it came to this Alpha. He knew that if he pushed the boundary today, the Enigma would actively choke him to death right in this room without a shred of remorse.
Wanting to avoid a repeat of that agonizing torture, Jodein sighed heavily. Moving with a slow, exaggerated submissiveness, he slid off the chair. The heavy chains around his wrists and ankles rattled loudly against the concrete floor as he dropped straight onto his knees in front of Malcolm.
Looking up through his lashes, Jodein forced his expression into a mask of compliance. "I am sorry, Malcolm," Jodein said, his smooth baritone carrying a carefully manufactured weight. "Please forgive me for what happened back then."
