Kaelan stood in the doorway, his eyes darting from his furious boss to the completely panicked King of Deviloy. His tablet was still half-raised in the air, his fingers frozen over the screen. He swallowed hard, his face turning a bright shade of red as the sheer awkwardness of the situation hit him like a physical blow.
"Oh," Kaelan stammered, backing away so fast his boots nearly slipped on the polished floor. "Oh, wow. I am... I am deeply sorry, Boss. Truly. My mistake. I will just... excuse myself right now. Please, continue with your... moment."
Without waiting for another second, Kaelan slapped his hand against the door control, scrambling backward into the hallway as the automated doors slid shut with a fast, loud click.
