Rona Langdon walked back to Jace Lennox's hospital room. She took a deep breath, stood at the door, and knocked.
By now, she had composed herself. On the surface, she once again appeared to be that serene, gentle, and graceful young lady. But her slightly red eyes revealed she had just been crying. This pitiful, gentle appearance was precisely what made others' hearts ache for her.
At the very least, everyone she passed on the way had started whispering amongst themselves, most of them expressing their sympathy for her.
Hearing the knock, Phoebe Faulkner stirred. She glanced back at Jace Lennox, but seeing he was ignoring her, she had no choice but to get up and open the door. When Rona Langdon had left earlier, she'd slammed it shut with a BANG.
Phoebe Faulkner walked to the door and opened it.
And there, standing in the doorway, was Rona Langdon.
