"Kitty..." Phoebe didn't know whether to laugh or cry at her friend's words. If only Jace Lennox were that easy to fool. Still, using a child as a bargaining chip truly was the only way she could get any news about her big brother.
"Alright, don't overthink it. Now that I know, I won't just stand by and let you get bullied." Kitty grabbed Phoebe Faulkner's hand, her expression serious. "I'll admit that Jace Lennox guy is formidable, but do you really think our Yorks Family is afraid of him? Once my brother gets back, it's anyone's guess who'll come out on top."
Hearing this, Phoebe said quickly, "Kitty, whatever you do, don't tell your brother about this!"
"Alright, alright, I won't say anything," Kitty said, raising her hands in surrender. "I just don't get it. Why do you always make me hide things from my brother? If he were back, you wouldn't be getting pushed around like this."
