"You hit me? Howard Lynch, you actually hit me?" Dawn O'Connell clutched her face in disbelief.
"You're damn right I hit you!" Howard Lynch roared in fury. "Haven't you caused enough trouble? What did I ever do to offend you? Why are you trying to ruin me? Phoebe and I were doing just fine, so why did you have to interfere? Why would you pull such a despicable stunt to frame Phoebe?"
"Me, despicable? Me, ruining you? Howard Lynch, do you have a conscience? You're the one who came on to me! You're the one who said Phoebe Faulkner gave you the cold shoulder and that I was the only one who was gentle, considerate, and could understand and care for you! Now that it's all out in the open, you're trying to pin all the blame on me?"
Screaming, Dawn O'Connell lunged at Howard Lynch, roaring irrationally, "You love her that much? If you love her so much, why did you sleep with me? If you love her so much, why did you get me pregnant with your child?"
