Early in the morning, Gina Gable woke to find Scott Sterling still sound asleep in her arms.
She stared, a little dazed, at the warm, fluffy white ball in her arms and subconsciously stroked his head.
"PURRRR..." A faint purring sound escaped Scott Sterling's mouth, and Gina Gable instantly froze.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted the stuffed hamster on the floor. Then, she carefully glanced at the spot on the pillow where Scott Sterling usually slept. It was perfectly smooth, obviously having been empty for a while.
Gina Gable's eyes lit up as if she'd had a sudden realization. She abruptly pulled the sleeping Scott Sterling upright, buried her face in his soft belly, and shrieked, "AHHHH!! My baby was jealous! He crawled into Mommy's bed all by himself last night!! HAHAHA!!!"
The violent shaking and high-pitched shrieking woke Scott Sterling.
