"What did you buy?" Silas asked expressionlessly.
Holly looked up at him, a small smile playing on her lips.
She had actually bought him a gift too, but she'd tucked it away and hadn't brought it out.
"Lego," Holly said softly.
Gina had recommended it. She said all guys liked them.
'AHHH!! Lego!! Since when does that punk have such a refined hobby?!'
Holly paused, eyeing the gift bag uncertainly.
'Lego… refined?'
'In her eyes, wasn't it just a toy, like building blocks?'
'Still, it was a step up from simple blocks, so it wouldn't be too improper to give as a gift.'
'Even though Silas had given her a card, she hadn't used it. She didn't have much money and couldn't afford the kind of extravagant gifts people in his circle exchanged. She had to focus on finding something he might actually like.'
'But… doesn't Silas's friend like Lego?'
'Did I get the wrong thing, then?'
