Even through the door, Holly Wyatt could smell an undeniable stench of blood.
Her brow furrowed slightly. She looked down at Silas Thornton, then gently patted his shoulder, signaling for him to put her down.
'Tsk, why does she have to get down? Wasn't it nice holding her?'
'Sigh, whatever. If the cub doesn't want to be held, I'll put her down. It's not like she's going inside anyway. It's definitely filthy in there.'
Silas Thornton bent over and carefully set Holly Wyatt down. "Wait by the door. Don't run off."
Once she was steady on her feet, Holly Wyatt nodded repeatedly and glanced at the child safety leash on her wrist.
The other end of the leash was attached to Silas Thornton's wrist.
Silas had gotten it from Mia Thornton before coming here.
Mia had used it when raising Snowy by herself after her partner's death to prevent Snowy from getting into trouble when she wasn't looking.
Now that Snowy was a bit older, the safety leash was no longer needed.
