Holly Wyatt paused, not daring to look at Silas Thornton again. Her ears flushed red as she stared at the large, well-defined hand clasped around her wrist.
'Maybe... all that fur she'd left behind in the hospital room wasn't so important after all.'
She lowered her head, her raven hair shielding the side of her face and hiding the smile in her eyes.
Silas Thornton and Holly Wyatt's figures vanished together at the end of the hospital corridor.
From the other end of the hall, a petite figure in white slowly emerged.
A white silk scarf was wrapped snugly around her face, and her dark hair fell loose, almost completely obscuring her eyes.
She glanced left and right, then took advantage of the empty hallway to slip into the hospital room, closing the door behind her.
