The girl went into the house and soon came out with a young woman.
"What happened to you two?" the young woman asked in a thick, local accent. "Quick, come inside!"
Seeing that Georgia Thorne was about to lose her grip on Elliot Sheridan, the woman helped support him.
Together, they helped Elliot into the house and laid him flat on the bed. Georgia Thorne tucked him in.
She turned to the young woman gratefully. "Thank you for letting us in!"
The young woman waved her hand. "Are you two tourists?"
'I can't just tell her that Elliot dragged me to the beach and threatened to kill himself.'
She smiled and said, "Something like that!"
The young woman told them to rest and brought over a basin of hot water a little while later.
"You should wipe him down. He's covered in sand. You too!" She pointed at the two of them, both looking like a complete mess.
"Thank you. Thank you so much!"
