With only two days left until Lucas Lockwood and Tina Chambers' wedding, Shalma Hughes had finally, after countless requests, secured a certain someone's permission to go to a department store in Aethelgard to pick out a wedding gift for the couple. However, there was a condition: she had to be accompanied by Faye Fordham, Mrs. Lewis, and a doctor. In reality, everyone knew this was merely an excuse for Shalma to go out for a stroll. The Winslow family's Treasure Pavilion was filled with precious items; she could have easily picked out a couple of things as a gift. There was absolutely no need for the matriarch of the Winslow family to make a special trip.
Fortunately, the weather wasn't too hot that day. It was overcast, with a thick, hazy mist clinging to the sky. Despite the gloomy weather, Shalma was absolutely thrilled. She walked through the mall like a child who had been grounded by her parents for ages and was finally let out to play to her heart's content.
