"What do you mean by how long?" Shalma Hughes furrowed her brows.
"How long have you been taking birth control pills?" Julian Winslow continued to press, his gaze fixed tightly on her seemingly unbothered face.
Shalma looked up, meeting his eyes. "I remember Mr. Winslow saying before that you didn't like women using children to tie you down. Isn't taking birth control a perfectly normal thing? It saves Mr. Winslow a lot of trouble."
Julian suddenly strode forward and reached out, tightly gripping Shalma's hand in the exact same spot as before. The pain made Shalma grit her teeth, but her gaze remained firm. "Shalma Hughes! Say what you just said again," he demanded. "What was our relationship back then, and what is our relationship now?"
