"Pfft! You're a grown adult, yet you talk about dying all day. Don't you know it's bad luck?" Yvette Sterling followed behind Hannah Hughes. Though her words were strict, her eyes brimmed with doting affection.
"Hmph! But it's true," Hannah said with a playful pout.
Seeing his daughter, Marcus Hughes's usually stern face softened slightly. He raised a hand to stroke Hannah's head. "You're always so mischievous. You're an adult now, yet you still act like a child. You should learn from your sister. When she was your age, she was already taking charge of things on her own."
It seemed Hannah only noticed there was another person in the house after hearing this.
She turned around in surprise, a sweet smile blooming on her small, delicate face. "Ah! You're here too."
Shalma Hughes looked at her younger sister, who was so clearly cherished by their parents. With a faint smile, she nodded.
