A herd of Mammoths emerged from the Eastern Teleportation Array. These behemoths were thick-skinned and heavily armored. As soon as they stepped out of the Teleportation Array, they marched outward, bearing the brunt of the Pea Shooters' bullets. Under the first volley from the Pea Shooters, at least a third of the first wave survived.
A flock of Harpies appeared from the Western Teleportation Array. The moment they were teleported, they spread their wings and took to the sky. Although not many survived each wave, Lin Yu's territory currently lacked anti-air structures. Once the Harpies amassed in numbers, Lin Yu would be in deep trouble.
A horde of Beastmen spawned from the Southern Teleportation Array. Upon appearing, a defensive barrier enveloped their bodies. Wielding wooden clubs, they charged at the surrounding Pea Shooters. Almost half of the first wave survived.
At present, the situation in the west seemed the most favorable. However, as time passed and the number of airborne Invisible Harpies increased, it would become increasingly thorny for Lin Yu to handle. The situation in the south was the most difficult and posed the highest level of danger. The situation in the east fell somewhere in between; even if left alone, it would resolve itself, though the Pea Shooters would suffer heavy casualties in the process.
Lin Yu's mind raced. He quickly made a decision and immediately began adjusting his troop deployments. First, he withdrew all the beast packs stationed at the Half-beastmen's location in the north to reinforce the other three directions. Next, he dispatched all the avian beasts—especially large birds of prey like goshawks and vultures—to the west to restrict the Harpies' flight, aiming to ensure they were killed before they could take to the air. This was no easy task. The Harpies were incredibly fast and had high evasion. The footage viewed at the Lingxin Department showed them frequently displaying unparalleled dodging abilities, evading all attacks for three whole seconds—clearly an innate racial skill. Then, Lin Yu sent all his thick-skinned animals, such as wild boars, warthogs, and bulls, to the south. There, they would serve as meat shields to block the Beastmen's advance, allowing the Pea Shooters in the rear to fire at will. Finally, the remaining beasts—wolves, snakes, level 10 elite beasts, and swarms of rats—were directed to the east. They needed to wipe out the Mammoth herd as quickly as possible before moving to support the other fronts.
Once Lin Yu issued his commands, the beast packs within the territory immediately sprang into action according to his arrangements. Fortunately, the beasts in his territory were considered his subjects. He could issue commands through the Lingxin Department, and his subjects would receive them directly. Otherwise, it would have been a logistical nightmare.
After adjusting the deployments, the situation at the northern Teleportation Array remained unchanged. The Half-beastmen were slaughtered the moment they stepped out, so there was absolutely no need to worry about any mishaps there.
At the Western Teleportation Array, with the help of the few Harpies that had luckily survived the initial waves, an increasing number of Harpies activated their evasion skills immediately after teleporting in. They dodged the incoming Pea Bullets and took to the sky. Furthermore, they began to group up and attack the nearby Pea Shooters, causing the situation to slowly take a turn for the worse. Just as another wave of Harpies teleported in, the hundred or so already in the sky started interfering with the Pea Shooters, disrupting their volley fire. Right at that moment, Lin Yu's aerial forces arrived. Although they weren't as agile or powerful as the Harpies, they made up for it in sheer numbers! Under the flock's siege, the airborne Harpies were too busy fending for themselves to continue interfering with the Pea Shooters' volleys. Although some Pea Shooters had been taken out, the concentrated fire from the remaining ones still provided saturation coverage.
Most of the Harpies were killed the moment they stepped out of the Teleportation Array, before they could even react. Only a handful managed to activate their skills in a panic, dodging the Pea Bullets and taking to the sky, only to be greeted by a fierce battle with the avian flock. The battle between the flock and the Harpies was intense. The Harpies were fast; under the flock's assault, they quickly broke free from the encirclement, darted away, and then turned back to counterattack. Their talons were razor-sharp. With just a light swipe, they could tear into an eagle's flesh, forcing it to glide down to the ground to recover. Fortunately, the flock was massive. All the birds from the entire 17.5-square-kilometer forest, combined with those Lin Yu had randomly recruited from the Beast Nest, totaled roughly ten thousand. Therefore, despite the Harpies' ferocious attacks, the number of injured birds was just a drop in the ocean compared to the size of the flock.
Besides, even the best can slip up. When the Harpies attacked the flock, they inevitably faced counterattacks and got entangled. Multiple injuries accelerated their stamina drain, and the aerial dogfights were already extremely exhausting. As a result, from time to time, an exhausted Harpy would plummet to the ground. However, the entire continent was Lin Yu's territory. No matter where they landed, they could not escape the fate of being slaughtered. Overall, until hero-tier Harpies appeared, the situation in the west was considered stabilized.
Over at the Southern Teleportation Array, because the wild boars, warthogs, and bulls moved relatively slowly, the ferocious Beastmen were already rampaging forward and were on the verge of breaking through Lin Yu's saturation fire zone (which was only 200 meters deep in a single direction, making it easy to breach) by the time these meat-shield beast packs finally arrived. The moment the two sides clashed, a fierce battle erupted. The beast packs didn't stop upon arrival. Instead, using their running momentum, they charged directly into the Beastmen. Although the wild boars, warthogs, and bulls weren't fast over long distances, their short-distance sprint speed was decent. Plus, they all had tusks and horns, making their charges highly lethal. To dodge the beasts' charge, the Beastmen had to halt their advance and leap to the sides, stalling their offensive. Of course, because they were packed so closely together, it was inevitable that some Beastmen were tossed into the air by the charging herd. However, the defensive barriers on the Beastmen's bodies boosted their Defense Power. Thus, even if they were struck by the beasts' charge, they merely sustained injuries and fell to the ground. After a short while, they would clamber back up and resume fighting.
While the beast packs went into rampage mode, throwing the Beastmen's organized assault into chaos, the Beastmen who had dodged the charge weren't idle either. As the beasts rushed past them, they used their wooden clubs to smash into the creatures' bodies. Lin Yu watched this scene nervously through the visual feed provided by the Lingxin Department. If these Beastmen possessed both high attack and high Defense Power, then he would have to think of an alternative plan. The ensuing scene, however, allowed the heavy weight on his chest to lift. A Beastman's club strike failed to break the charging beasts' bodies. The wild boars, warthogs, and bulls all boasted immense Defense Power, and they were fast while charging. When the wooden clubs struck them, the weapons glanced off before any real force could be applied. Still, while their frontal assault during a charge was powerful, their attacks lacked agility. Their charge looked incredibly imposing, but in reality, they barely managed to injure a few Beastmen. Most of the Beastmen casualties occurred when they were shot down by the surrounding Pea Shooters while trying to dodge the beasts' charge. Fortunately, the Beastmen didn't seem to be very bright. Compared to the silently firing Pea Shooters, the beasts charging back and forth clearly drew more of their attention. They completely ignored the Pea Bullets constantly battering their bodies, seemingly treating them like nothing more than raindrops.
