In a mountain hollow, Lu City walked into a cave. Two short blades were immediately pressed against his neck.
"I am Lu City." He raised his hands. "I'm here to see the Prophet."
A calm voice echoed from within the cave. "Let him come."
The two blades withdrew. Lu City glanced at the unknown figures holding the knives in the shadows before walking into a chamber deeper inside the cave.
He saw the Prophet sitting by the cave wall. Beneath his short, dark green hair, his eyes were still covered by a black blindfold.
"You came to see me. What is it?"
"Many of the elite Ascender units have been withdrawn from the front lines. Top combatants like Soloma's Adam and North Star's Bai Xuewu have all returned to their home countries."
Lu City had been infiltrating the allied forces to gather intelligence, and his primary focus was the movements of powerful Ascenders.
"They're likely being transferred to Fahe," the Prophet said.
