Jiang Wendong's face fell when he heard this.
He hadn't expected the situation in the Imperial City to be so convoluted; the Shadow Sect had already infiltrated its ranks.
He clenched his fists and said in a low voice, "Father, in that case, we will find Xinghai as quickly as possible and ensure his safety. As for you, we will also make the proper arrangements. We will not give anyone the opportunity to harm you."
Ji Qingya also nodded with a grave expression. She knew the gravity of the situation. "Old Jiang, I'll stay here to look after Father. You go ahead and handle things with Xinghai. We'll move on two fronts."
"Alright." Jiang Wendong nodded emphatically.
His wife, for her part, had mastered the arrays of the Celestial Essence Star Sect, so she could guarantee her own safety.
And with his late-stage Guiyuan Realm cultivation, he could go anywhere in the vast Imperial City, as long as he didn't run into one of those reclusive old masters or a backstabbing assassin.
