After sorting everything out, Robson called for his adjutant, a somewhat slow-witted Orc.

Everyone in the army knew that being the Lord's adjutant was a great assignment. Work for two months, or even just two weeks, and you were almost guaranteed a promotion.

Prominent figures in the army, like Baron Boyang and Knight Ace, had all come up that way.

This was by Robson's design.

But there was an exception to every rule—this Orc, for example.

Robson had originally planned to have Baron Ed replace him. After all, he owed the man a great deal, and Baron Ed was quite hardworking. As long as their interests didn't significantly clash, he, Lord Robson, was a man who repaid his debts.

Robson had always felt the Orc wasn't the sharpest, but he was incredibly efficient. He'd observed this several times, and the Orc's loyalty was commendable as well.

This made Robson reluctant to post him elsewhere, so he kept the Orc by his side. At the same time, he also had Baron Ed transferred up.
