Once the reactive liquid hydrogen was depleted, the Mother Empress's entire stomach sac had been inflated until it was taut and round. At a full fifty meters wide and over three hundred meters long, it was more than twice the size of the Mother Empress's body.
Based on the density ratio of hydrogen to air, every cubic meter provides fifteen kilograms of lift. This meant the enormous stomach-sac-turned-airship could generate an astonishing lifting force of over ten thousand tons.
Pulled by the muscles and vessels at its ends and underside, the Mother Empress's head and tail were gradually lifted from the ground, leaving only the heaviest part of its thorax beneath its head resting on the earth.
This was the Mother Empress's center of gravity.
But the pressure this part exerted on the ground had become minimal. Even the strong winds blowing hundreds of meters overhead could buffet the suspended, ten-thousand-ton carcass.
