Many of them crawled directly back to the Wormhole entrance.
The sight unfolding before them made the defenders in the main fortress quickly realize something was wrong. But after they contacted rear command, the message they received made them burst into cheers...
Judging from the sudden turn of events on the battlefield, the previous bunker-buster missile strike had most likely killed or severely injured the Zerg Race Mother Empress. Now, without their leader's control, the Zerg army was in disarray, like chickens with their heads cut off.
And this was the perfect opportunity for the line's defenders to go on the offensive!
Of course, they didn't have the guts to venture onto the battlefield outside the defensive line. But the Wormhole entrances dug by the Red-Armored Beetles inside the walls, and the large number of remaining Swarms in the distance...
It was time to clean those up and reduce the threat of being attacked from both front and rear!
