Damian Fairchild didn't answer her, carrying the plate of dumplings out of the kitchen.
Seraphina Quinn followed behind him, holding the dipping sauce.
Because the house was small, a dining area had been carved out in the living room.
The dining table was just to the left of the kitchen exit.
After Damian Fairchild sat down, Seraphina Quinn took a seat beside him.
She pushed the prepared dipping sauce in front of him, thought for a moment, and said, "Actually, I… I called Audrey Winslow earlier."
Damian Fairchild frowned. "Why would you call her?"
Seraphina Quinn recalled the phone call from Elias Sommers that had left her reeling. 'The greedy seed in her heart sprouted once more, and she couldn't suppress it.'
"I just suddenly felt… like I was getting a raw deal. If I can't have the position of Mrs. Fairchild, then I should at least get *something*. Otherwise, it just doesn't feel fair."
Damian Fairchild was very hungry. He ate the dumplings quickly, one after another.
