Fat dripped into the fire, letting out a tempting SIZZLE and releasing a tantalizing aroma.
In the firelight, a somewhat dopey-looking little alligator lay sprawled next to the roasting rack. Its tail tapped unconsciously against the ground as it let out an expectant and satisfied purr, its large amber eyes glued to the sizzling delicacy.
'This makes no sense!'
Count Brand grumbled in frustration as he turned the roast, tilting his small head. His beady black eyes were filled with doubt about the Elves' sense of taste.
