"Hello? Is this Su Chen?"
The call had just connected when a slightly urgent voice came from the other end, tinged with a hint of anxiety. Su Chen was taken aback; the caller had used his name right off the bat. 'This doesn't feel like a sales pitch!'
Shouldn't they have used a respectful title like Mr. Su?
Besides, the voice on the other end sounded vaguely familiar. Suppressing his doubts, Su Chen asked, "This is Su Chen. Who's this?"
Upon hearing Su Chen's response, the person on the other end clearly sounded relieved. Su Chen could even hear a long sigh of relief through the phone.
"Bro, it's me, your cousin Chen Fan!"
"Chen Fan?" Su Chen's brow furrowed the moment he heard the name. He had just gone to Suzhou to deal with matters concerning his eldest and third uncles' families. His cousin, Chen Fan, had already fled to Southeast Asia because of gambling debts. Why would he suddenly think to call him now?
