"Did you install cameras in my house or something? I literally just lay down and you call me. Go on... what's up?"
The moment the call connected, Su Chen let him have it, leaving Jiangyang on the other end utterly baffled.
"Er... are you coming to dinner tonight?" Jiangyang finally managed to squeeze out after a long pause.
Su Chen thought about it for a moment but decided to refuse. He knew that tonight's gathering would involve more than just dinner. If he went, he'd probably just be a killjoy.
"You guys go ahead without me. All I want to do right now is soak in the tub and get a good night's sleep. I've been completely wiped out lately!"
Jiangyang knew how busy Su Chen had been for the past half-month, so he didn't press him when he refused. They exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up.
Dinner that night was especially lavish. Perhaps because Su Chen hadn't been home in so long, Aunt Tang had made several of his favorite dishes.
