Caden ignored the commotion, carrying Seraphina straight toward the elevator.
"Caden, wait." Suddenly, Seraphina's clear eyes darkened as she spoke softly.
Caden stopped and looked down at the woman in his arms. His voice was so gentle it seemed to melt. "What's wrong?"
All he wanted was to get her out of her soaking clothes. Her body was frighteningly cold. She must have been caught in the rain for a long time, and he couldn't let this continue.
Seraphina remained silent, her gaze shifting toward Alice. Her nose twitched slightly as a faint, almost imperceptible herbal scent wafted toward her.
Alice flinched and froze, terrified by Seraphina's stare.
'Bliss Grass!' Seraphina identified the scent, and her eyes instantly turned cold. She glanced at the spilled soup on the floor, then fixed her gaze on Alice with profound meaning.
'Excellent.' She didn't even have to think to figure it out. 'That soup must have been for Caden.'
