He knew a thing or two about his granddaughter's temperament. His wife pitied and doted on her, but he couldn't indulge her so freely. After what had just happened, he'd realized that as long as they didn't go out of their way to provoke that girl, Roxanna would be fine. But if they truly angered her, nothing they said would likely matter. More importantly, he had a hunch that Damian would definitely side with that girl.
Roxanna's face stiffened. She lowered her gaze and spoke meekly, "I understand, Grandpa."
'Damn you,' she thought. 'I'll get you for this. It's all because of you that Grandpa, who usually dotes on me, actually yelled at me.'
The old madam looked displeased and was about to say something, but she immediately fell silent when she met the old master's gaze.
