"We'd better prepare plenty of food today. The kids should be arriving soon," Mr. Ashworth said in high spirits, stroking his graying beard.
"The girls are already busy in the kitchen. They said they want to cook a good meal to fatten up the kids," Miss Ashworth nodded and sighed. "It's been almost a week since we've seen them. The house feels so empty!"
"Mr. Ashworth, I've come for a game of chess!"
Just as Mr. Ashworth was about to say something, he was cut off by the voice from outside.
"Are you in there, Mr. Ashworth?"
His voice, powerful and resonant, preceded him, ringing out loud and clear.
"What's this old rascal doing here again!" Mr. Ashworth grumbled childishly, but his hands were unconsciously arranging the tea set.
The moment Mr. Reginald stepped through the door and saw Mr. Ashworth, he boomed happily, "I knew you were also waiting for that troop of monkeys to come home."
"Hmph, and you aren't?" Mr. Ashworth shot him a glance and huffed.
