In the carriage on the return journey, besides the Viscount and his family, there was also a beautiful young woman.
She was none other than Mrs. Britney.
Having already broken up with the Viscount, she had received a hefty severance payment.
She had originally intended to give Lian 10,000 Gold Coins for his troubles, but he only accepted 1,000. He told her the remaining 9,000 Gold Coins were an investment in her, hoping she would become a successful merchant in Green Shade Territory.
Now, whenever Britney thought of Lian, an indescribable emotion stirred in her heart.
It was by no means romantic love, but rather the salvation one feels when, lost in darkness, they are suddenly touched by the gentle warmth of a sunbeam.
This salvation had given her a new purpose in life.
So, when Viscount Fenix Belo's family heard they had lost two-thirds of their fortune and began cursing Lian Moria for his shamelessness, she was the only one who spoke up.
