In Private Room 111, Rhys Crawford sat on the sofa, stretching his legs out casually as he looked at the young girl opposite him with a smiling face.
Iris Dalton ignored him. She was completely relaxed, leaning against the leather cushions, taking bite after bite of the fruit platter the waiter had just brought in. She had eaten too much tonight, so having some fruit now... would help her digest.
Behind her, two bodyguards stood like black towers, adding a touch of solemnity to the room's atmosphere.
"Tsk, tsk. To think Eldest Young Master Sherwood would do such a thing just to protect his sister. How heartless." Rhys's eyes curved slightly at the corners as he studied the girl's expression. His peach-blossom eyes carried a captivating hint of pity. "Don't be sad, Iris. You still have me. I'll be your brother."
She wanted absolutely no part of that and wished he would just stay the hell away from her.
