"PFFT!" Iris Dalton quickly hid her face behind a book.
She thought, "Not me, I know nothing! You got the wrong person!"
Carter Lyndon was extremely excited. He pressed down the book in her hands. "It's you, The Great Wylie! I'd recognize you even if you were reduced to ashes!"
Iris was speechless. She thought, "Thanks for the ashes comment. I'm dead. Do not disturb!"
"Weren't you in the mountains? How come you're in Stellan?" Carter pressed endlessly, like a walking encyclopedia of questions.
The entire class turned to look at them, their faces full of gossipy curiosity. The English teacher, a male returnee from overseas with an aloof demeanor, stood at the podium. His lips pressed tightly together as he swept a merciless gaze over the two of them. It hid a cold, murderous intent.
Iris felt a whoosh of cold wind and a chill run down her spine.
