After a brief moment of shock, Holly Sinclair instinctively denied it. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"This morning, I saw you coming out of the gynecology department..." Tristan Sterling's voice lacked conviction, afraid he would make her angry.
Sure enough—
"You were following me?!"
Holly's gaze turned sharp, a storm brewing in her eyes.
He quickly waved his hands, explaining, "No, no, I wasn't following you. Holly, don't misunderstand. I was just at the hospital for a follow-up and happened to see you. I was worried you weren't feeling well, so I couldn't help but ask your doctor..."
The doctor was professional and initially refused to disclose her condition, not until he pulled up a photo of their marriage certificate from his phone's album.
Holly Sinclair laughed in exasperation.
'Could I be any more unlucky?'
'He just had to see me at a prenatal checkup?'
At this point, denial was pointless.
'Whatever. If he knows, he knows.'
