Summer Thorne pursed her lips and touched the tip of her nose.
The next moment, she told a blatant lie.
"They're not dusty. They got moldy."
Saying something had gotten moldy in Valois during the spring was practically an absurd fantasy.
Timothy York said, "Is that so? Then I'd like to see for myself."
Summer Thorne quickly sidestepped him. "They were just cheap slippers to begin with, so it's normal for them to get moldy. Besides, the weather's getting warmer, so they're not suitable anymore… I'll just take them down and throw them out."
As she spoke, she slipped past Timothy York and stepped into the elevator.
Timothy York remained standing at the door. About a minute passed before he walked to the elevator, pressed the button to open it, and looked at Summer Thorne, who was standing perfectly still inside the car.
